Default ATI Radeon 4200 HD Very Low FPS

Basically I have a pretty powerful computer but yet my game play on the low quality render and everything set to the minimum has like 10 FPS. These are my computer specs:

    Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
    Hard Drive: 736 GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4200
    Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.101026-1503)

Any ideas why my FPS is so bad on such a pretty powerful computer?

Or any tips to up it?

The card might be but my processor can put out a lot of power. I swear, they scam you on everything these days.

The title of your thread is the very reason you have low FPS.
4000 series is a bit dated on its own, but the x200 is one of (if not the absolute) lowest in a given series, and is much worse than it sounds.
If you have a little cash around, look for a new video card. A page like this one will help, but look for more than just one benchmark source because each will vary. Find the card that balances budget and power best for you, and go with it.

its true, the processor is fine. But if you check your ati console and go to the overdrive section of the ati catalyst center you'll likely see the GPU is maxxed out.

If I overclock it will it ruin it?

it has a possibility of ruining it,but the catalyst center can autotune it... but honestly its not going to give you much more power.

How do you add more power to it in the control center?

No magic can be done with that card, sorry to say. Not only is the 4200 a low end card, but its dated as well....3 generations old. Any x200 card is not ment for gaming.

How? Trion completely screwed up on the ATI cards because they don't work well at all, but I can play SC2 fine on medium settings?

listen. your videocard is not able to run it over 10 fps. then there are 2 things you can do

    1 buy a better videocard
    2 not play the game.

i'm used to have 10-15 fps (in rift battles its about 6) so it does not bother me. im used to it. and in a while you get used to it

Get a better system them. Your whole PC is VERY average/low end, the GPU being the worst.
