Hey guys,
I am writing here regarding the issue that a great number of Australian players, who are using the Internet Service Provider OPTUS, are having extremely large lag issues.
In this thread from Beta, http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...ho-is-your-ISP Trion recognized a great deal of people across the world, were having extremely bad latency problems. Out of the 80 posts in this thread, 15 of them are specifically regarding the issue of Optus and Rift.
Now in order to get this fixed, we need to collaborate together and get the attention of Trion and Optus.
Here is an example of what happened when British Throttle ISP users (who were having issues with BT recognizing Rift as P2P), banded together and managed to get BT to fix the issues:

Ok, so what is the problem? Well, it could be two issues. One, Optus’s network thinks Rift is peer to peer OR two, Optus is having bad international congestive issues.
Anyway, I propose we post the following information (Asked by Trion in the first thread I posted);
*Your ISP – we will align your responses with our other information to make sure we’re properly prioritizing this work.
*Whether you experienced this mostly in warfronts/cities/rifts/events, or for all of your game play.
*The latency that the game was telling you while you were playing just fine.
*The latency that the game was telling you that you had when you were lagging.
*The first three octets of your IP address according to www.whatismyip.com (123.45.67.*) – many of the ISPs with whom we’ve spoken need this information to help them search through their logs and properly configure their tools.
*The results of ping and tracert to 193.105.173.1 (for Europe) or to 208.94.26.1 (for North America).
(In case you don’t know how to, to post results of a ping or tracert, type “run” in search, accessed from the start menu. Click on it, then type “cmd” into run. Once inside cmd (or command prompt) type: ping 208.94.26.1 then press enter, when it is done, type: tracert 208.94.26.1 [then press enter]. Now, right click on cmd, then press “select all”, copy it, then paste in your forum post.)
After that, I recommend either calling Optus using the service difficulty and faults hotline (correct me if I am using the wrong hotline) with the number: 1300-328-587.
Or fill out this form: https://optus.custhelp.com/app/ask/
Also this is a thread regarding the issue with Optus’s international congestion, http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...?t=1629191&p=2
Thank you
Regards, Hexic.
