Default Getting Low Frame Rate (Help with PC upgrades)

    Thank you for the help.

    Comp Specs:

GeForce 9800 GT SLI with a second 9800
    2.2GB Video RAM
    4 GB RAM
    Intel Core Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz
    750 Watt Corsair Power Supply
    P5N-D Asus Motherboard

    Windows Vista 64-bit
    1920x1080 res
Using in game graphic settings listed here (http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...Radeon-HD-5750)
    Running all latest driver updates.

So I imagine I should upgrade my video cards, but I'm not sure what to upgrade to. I've heard this game has problems with crossfire/SLI, so I'm looking for a single card rather than SLI. Anyone have a recommendation? Also is that the only thing I should upgrade, or is everything else okay. Please let me know. Thanks.

How comfortable are you with overclocking? If you can push your CPU up to 3.4 or at least 3 ghz it would last a bit longer before needing replaced.

I can recommend some new GPUs if you'd like, but I would need to know your budget first. Your amount/speed of ram would help as well!

Also, "acquire" a copy of windows 7, stat.

I've never actually overclocked before, but I have thought about it. I'll have to look up a guide and read up on it so I don't overdue it.

My RAM is corsair DDR2, 2 sticks.

I have a budget of around $200, if you wouldn't mind giving me some suggestions for a video card.

    Thanks Forum troll.

This is a nice card for $199.

You can find GTX460s ranging anywhere from 140 to 200+ though, just search around newegg for them. This is probably the best you will get for that price range, and more than adequate to run this game on high / ultra.

I'd say bump it up a touch to the $250 range and go for a Evga GTX 560 (Ti)
