    Default Laptop Specs Help

    Hello

I bought a new laptop yesterday and downloaded rift onto it a few hours ago. However, on minimum graphics settings I'm getting 11fps tops, and the starting area wasn't crowded at all.

    My computer specs are:

    AMD Athlon II X2 processor, P320 (2.1GHz)
    3GB RAM
    250GB Hard Drive
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics, 1405MB Hypermemory

I don't know what any of this means, can anyone see anything that needs upgrading to get my fps up?

    Thanks

When you buy a new laptop you need to update your graphic card . is your firewall control put on medium .
(if you donīt have a clue about IT specialisation)
But the graphic card definetly needs a new update . but before that , try to put the graphics on native resolution .
Native resolution means the graphic screen of your laptop (max resoultion) that usually is the way to play games on laptop , so max out the screen resolution in game and desktop.
See if that increases fps or not , so that usually handles most gaming problems asap .
If still not then download the new drivers .

You seem smart about this kind of stuff. How does one go about setting native resolution in Windows 7?

If you are on flat minimum this likely is the best you'll get. This really isn't a gamer grade laptop card.

As you can see this is well below a solid mainstream chip like [ur=http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5650.23697.0.html]the 5650[/url].

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can upgrade to make it run better. Laptops can't be upgraded like desktops can. The GPU and CPU are effectively bound to the system and you'd have to replace the entire system to change it.
