    Default My new rig!

    Hi people

This is the computer I'm going to be building

    Motherboard: ASUS P8P67-DELUXE P67 DDR3 Intel 1155pin Motherboard
    CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 1155pin
    HDD: WD 3.5" Black 1TB WD1002FAEX SATA3 7200rpm HDD X2 in raid
    PSU: Thermaltake ToughPower-XT 875Watt PSU
    Case: Coolermaster RC-932-KKN1 HAF 932
DVD: just a normal dvdrw drive

Im going to be using my old gpu ATI HD5770 for now until ati and nvidia bring out their new cards and than decide which one to get. Also, I will buy a SDD later on when I save up more money. So wat do you guys think of this build?

Might be able to run the original EQ on the lowest settings. I would've personally went with:

I can guarantee at least a 20-30fps improvement. Of course you could upgrade this if you want a real gaming rig:

You're going to be waiting a while... Just get an AMD 6870 or a 6950/70 and you wont regret it when comparing to that 128bit 5770.....

you can also go with the HD 6850. i just upgraded to the sapphire one about 2 weeks ago. plays rift on ultra settings at 1980x1090 resolution without any issues. rift events, in the city. no lag or performance problems at all and im only running a 2.8ghz dual core amd cpu and 4gig ddr2 ram.

no sense in spending alot of money on the highest end cards when the mid ranges perform just as well.

On my gpu at ultra settings I get bout 50fps during questing and that goes down to 25 during Rift events or crowded areas. Also a note, I play the game on a 46" LCD TV at 1920X1080p.

Defintely get a mid-range GPU at least. You'll do it eventually, might as well do it now.

    p.s. congrats and enjoy!
