Closing out of Rift - Resolution wont reset

So outside of Rift on my desktop i run at 1680x1050 resolution. After being in the rift main menu and quitting the game from there, it doesnt revert my resolution back, but instead stays at 1280x1024. Is this an issue with rift? or some setting on my Computer.

Note that i use Windows 7 for my OS if this is the issue.


Edit: Alt-tabbing to the desktop while the game is open does not experience this problem


Second Edit: I just changed the in-game resolution to match my desktop resolution, but I feel the resolution should revert back regardless of the in-game resoultion
