Default Will XXXX Card work for Rift ? WIN A FREE GTX 580 SLI !!

Ok now that I have your attention..

Over the last week+ I think I don't only speak for myself when I say that I and several others here in the Technical discussion forum have fielded post upon post upon post that pretty much all come down to:
"Will my graphics card <insert Brand, Make and Model> run Rift ?"
"What graphics card do I need to run RIFT ?"
Can you suggest a graphics card to run RIFT ?"
    etc..

I am not trying to be rude, more along the lines of condensing the same question being asked over and over and over.. leading to pages and pages of literally the almost same exact question being answered 20 different times by 15 different people.

1st off.. it may seem like "Oh yeah of course.." .. please do not forget there is a SEARCH function to the upper right hand side. There is a very good chance someone has asked the same question or maybe has the same model graphics card you are wondering may or may not be capable of running RIFT. check it out.. it does work well.

2nd.. here's a list of just a sampling of the posts I and others have posted in response to such questions..
    Video Card
    New Video Card
    Need a new video card
    Questions for PC builders
    How about the GTX 460
    New Radeon
    Terrible fps
    Upgrading computer, need help
    Dear Tech Savvy...
Older system needs new video card
    Ideas-for-inexpensive-graphics-for-my-HP-a6600f

Again that is a mere sampling of the video card/system upgrades Tech discussion sees every day, there is a wealth of info contained within the pages above. Feel free to browse and don't be shy, we are all (ok most of us anyway ;P) here to help one another.

AS far as performance (*stock/reference non-overclocked)
    For the most part:

    GTS 450 < 4850=5750 < 4870=5770 < GTX 460/465 < 5850/6850 < 6870 < GTX 470/560 < 6950 < GTX 570 < 6970 < GTX 580
There of course are certain makes and models (such as custom over clocked etc) that give a bit of wiggle room but I think that is a fair assessment of the current landscape of video card performance.

Some of the sites/articles by which "performance" is compiled by:
    echpowerUp Zotac GTX 560: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Z...560_Ti/28.html
    Computerbase GTX 460 : http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/g...chnitt_ratings
    Anandtech GTX 560 (latest) http://www.anandtech.com/show/4135/n...e-250-market/5
    * GPU benchamrks charts here: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU11/188
    *GTX 460 v HD5850

    Xbit Labs http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid..._15.html#sect0

lastly.. (for now) here is a run down of some of the info in the above links based upon video card performance and sale pricing..

    $150(ish) to 250(ish)
    best to worst performing http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Z...560_Ti/28.html
    69502GB ($257)
    69501GB ($239)
    HD 5870 ($200)
    GTX 560Ti ($250)
    HD 6870 ($180)
    HD 5850 ($165)
    HD 6850 ($160)
    GTX 460 ($200)

    $100 USD or less

The best BANG!!! for your buck right at this moment would be that GTX 460 @ 89.99 after MIR.. of course that means spending @149.99 (+tax if you live in a state listed on their site) then waiting 4-6 weeks for most likely a "Visa" debit/credit card.. but in the long run that card will give you quite a few "miles".

    Other than that.. I'd go:

    5770 @$99.99 after MIR
    GTS 450 @$89.99 after MIR
    5750
    GTS 250 @$74.99
    5670 @$64.99 Double Lifetime warranty
    GTS 440
    GT 430 or 5570 or 5550 DDR5 <- BIG difference with DDR5 and not (about 30-40%)

Again I don't mean to sound rude/condescending or unfriendly just maybe have sort of depository where one can come to get a general idea of video card related questions appear frequently.. I hope I didn't offend anyone (I know I can be sometimes, I am after all human) and am not trying to exclude anyone or their opinions or ideas,.. I certainly hope we all can add to the community by helping one another and adding to the RIFT community.

For a second there I was genuinely impressed at the level of detail you put into this post however I do take issue with the above; and reference the following:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2....1.0,2484.html

Game test above was 3dmark2006 which can be downloaded here:
    http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/3dmark06/download/

If we go based off of the recommended settings:

    Recommended System Specification
Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or better
    Memory: 4 GB
Hard disk space: 8.0 GB available
Desktop Video: Nvidia GTS 250 or better
Notebook Video: Nvidia GTX 200M series or better
    Sound: DirectX 8.1 compliant card
    DirectX®: 9.0c, June 2010 update
Broadband internet connection (DSL, cable modem or other high speed connection
A score above 16,000 marks in 3dmark06 will be enough for RIFT
Phenom II X6 1090T BE: Overclocked to 4.0ghz (Awaiting Zambezi)
    8GB DDR2 1066
PNY GTX 470 SLi (240 GT PhysX)

A score 16k+ on 3dmark06?? then im in trouble lol, I actually ran 2 tests yesterday and I ended just below 10k, o well 3 more days then I can lag around with 5-8fps on low graph settings.

you think you're in trouble? LOL my 3Dmark06 score was 3315... but i can still run the game low settings with 20-25fps.

During those large scale events, I was averaging around 10-15fps. Then again, I am running a 9400gt, Just waiting for my gtx460 to arrive, and hopefully I can experience the game on at least high settings.
