    Do not buy that card. It only has 64-bit memory, which means it is extremely low end. Let me know what your budget is and I can recommend something better. But please, for the love of god, don't buy that video card.

    the OP might not have much of a choice as it maybe an integrated (6370 Mobile) part.. you'd be hard pressed to find much better in that price range (ie cheap) the 6370M is a relabeled 5470 Mobile and around the same perf as a NV310M. The spec's put it about equal to a HD4290 (790GX/890GX @ 750Mhz) but as of yet still rather unplayable. I'd suggest the OP look to elsewhere/possble customization (if allowable by computer supplier), or plan on spending a bit more (HD4600 class mobile part.. 320 SP)

    problem is the GT540 is yet another rebadged/relabled/tweaked part dating back to the G90/80 era..

    540M = 435M

    Ati is hardly any better as we see, I am sick of rebranding but the oems love it Bigger # = more sales

    That's basically true, but what other options are there in that price range? Not many. So the only way to get a true laptop that is gaming capable and not rebadged you have to get something with the GTX460M, 470M or 485M. On the AMD side there is only the 5850M or the 5870M and maybe the 5670M that are truly gaming capable.

    They are also 1200+ for a laptop with those in them.

    So until AMD hits with the 6950M and the 6970M and Nvidia rebadges to the GTX560M, 570M and the 585M there isn't much else to go on.

    very true.. I think the best AMD offers atm is the 5870M/5850M which is a renamed/labeled 5770/5750 desktop part.. and not many of those for cheap that Ive seen.
