Keeps it around 42-45 at full load at 4.8 ghz. It's hard to see in this picture, but there is another fan on the other side of the radiator for push/pull action. Motherboard is keeping me from hitting 5 easily, not heat.

    Certainly interested in these.

As far as the OC, what you have now is really good. Not sure Id worry about it much.

Although, I do understand the desire to hit the goal you want as well As Im sure most OCers do.

In all honesty, as soon as I get 5ghz stable, I will probably drop it back down to 4.2 or so to squeeze some extra time out of my CPU instead of degrading it at light speed.

By the time it actually died from overclocking you would have upgraded 5 times already, if temps are under control you've really got nothing to worry about. My Celeron server 333@500 still going strong since 2002.

My practice as well. After done finding the MAX, look for that sweet spot

This is wjhy I am sitting at 3.6Ghz OC.
My Q9650 was able to hit 4.0Ghz, but the voltage it required and the heat it was generating was not, IMHO, good for 24/7 use.

The current OC ssems to be a very good trade off overall.

..And i just realized we totally Hi-jacked the thread. HAHA

    Sorry OP
