    The nVidia GTX 590 has been rumoured to come out late february but I think it'll be later.

    So right now It's the GTX580 or the ATi 6950 even with no ££'s limit it's pointless to go for the 6970.......

    But these are all very debateable and probably will be

    I think it's after the best graphics card out at the moment, Don't know if he wants it to know or to upgrade nor do we know if the OP wants to do SLI/Crossfire.

    ATI HD6950's can currently be BIOS flashed to 6970 status. Saves you a few pennies if you were to go that route. This is for the 2gb models, the 1gb models as far as I am aware cannot do this.

    The OP said no spending limit. The only answers with that condition are Nvidia GTX 580 or AMD 6970 depending which side you prefer. There's nothing else to say.

    Does the OP happen to work in video production and often end up creating entire 3D worlds and doing tons of fun rendering? If so, those cards are worthless to him, and he should go for the PNY Quadro 6000

    At only $3,799.99, this is an amazing card, and a STEAL

    1. Some of us use $$, but I can forgive that.
    2. No limit on cash would cause me to get a whole new rig and watercooling loop running either a Tri-Sli or Tri X-fire. But you wanted actual cards so: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127559 x3 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102916 x3.

    lulz.

    But I counter with a disqualification that it's not a "GRFX Card", but a 'rendering array'. Joo is disqualified on technicality!

    bigger --> badder (less --> more)

    Midrange -> High end

    6870 @ $200 - (+5-10%)-> GTX 560 ($250) -(+5-15%)-> 6950 ($270) -(+5-15%)-> GTX 570 ($350) - (5-15%)-> HD6970 ($370) -(+10-15%)-> GTX 580 ($500)

    ie a GTX 560 is 5-10% on avg than a HD6870, a HD6950 is 5-15% faster on avg than a GTX 560.. and so on.. IF $ was no object.. hell I'd go

    Intel 980X, p58 with 24GB Ram, 4 X C300 in raid 5, OCZ Z-Drive times 2, GTX 580 SLI @ 1Ghz (H20/LN2) and the 1200W PSU needed to pwer the beast up ;-)
