Default Your Specs and rift performance!

I had a look around the forums and really want to know what kind of specs you have and RIFT performance you get with them. Me and a friend got into the beta and since getting addicted want to go about getting a PC together that can max this game out.

Currently i have a toshiba laptop satellite L555-10R.

    windows 7 64bit
    intel core 2 duo 2.1ghz
    4gb ram 533mhz
ATI mobility radeon 4600 1 GB dedicated (With hypermemory upto 2.9gb)

with all setting in the middle setting i get an average of 20 FPS in non combat and just under in combat scenarios with the framrate only being effected in RIFT bosses with 50+players and doesnt drop below 10 fps when in the big city.

Post yours and hopefully some use will come of this thread!

This is my can you run it just to give you an idea It was quarter of the way over minmum

If you want to max the game the investment will be heavy; you will need 2x video card. If you are happy with similar settings to what I run then here is my current set up. A friend of mine has the same set up as me except he runs a i7. The fps difference doesn't exist. Only way we can change fps is swapping video cards. Running on a SSD or a WD black edition hard drive makes no fps difference for us. A GTX580 runs us about 7 fps higher. After that we need to run 2x HD6950, 2x HD6970, 2x GTX570, 2x GTX580. We didn't bother playing with the previous series of Nvidia or ATI. 2x HD6870 gets us roughly no change. Keep in mind, we had to play around a lot to avoid the xfire/sli issues of strange frame rates skewing our results. When the game officially releases we can re-test everything with screen shots and a fraps min-avg-max chart.

If you can get a ATI HD5870 cheap, our co-worker gets about the same fps as we do. His 5870 is OC 875/1250.

    1920x1080
    i5 @ 3.8ghz, 8GB ram
ATI HD6970 - Cat 11.1 (no difference when I updated to the newest driver)
    120GB vertex 2 SSD.

    From Waterfronts -
    UTLTRA+SSAA, 16x AF, Shadows 2, particles 750, lighting quality @6 = 37fps avg, low is 32fps.

Rift events with many players I can drop to 25ish.

The list below was tested in the Guardian town Sanctum at peak times.

Lighting quality from 6 to 10 is a 10 fps difference.
SSAA is a 10 fps difference
    Shadow Complexity @2 is 1-2fps
Particles@ 750 has had no effect so far on my performance unless I am in a major event.
    AF from 8x to 16x is about 2-4fps, AF @ 0-8 is 1-2 fps.

Basically what I aimed for when tweaking my quality was 30+ fps with SSAA. Lighting quality made that possible with very minimal visual degradation.

    Specs:
    https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_u...s400/Build.jpg
    Nvidia Driver Version: 266.58
    Nvidia Settings:
    https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_u...20settings.jpg
    Screen Resolution: 1920*1200
    In game settings: Ultra

With the above settings I get anywhere from 35-40 FPS just running around questing while rifts tend to drag me down to 20-25 FPS.

@ Zidaen: Thank you for your informational post, gonna try dropping a few settings like lighting quality when Beta 7 hits.

Midzark, a HD 5870 will run it on default ULTRA with acceptable frames.

Dinian, it's worth playing around with those settings though I cannot predict if you will experience the 10fps increase as we do since it's a different GPU set up. I would suggest trying AF @8 instead of 16 as well, it's one of the settings I change most when swapping cards to test and each card provides different results.

If you sort through the 100 million different performance threads there are some incredibly sources of information from a few other posters. C-Buzz and C00lit to name a couple.

    Amd x2 6000+
    ati 6850
sata 3.0 500 gig hard drive
    4 gigs of ddr2 800 ram
    windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
    Play at 1680 x 1050 resolution

With every setting set as high as I can possible go I get 20 fps and around 14 fps around invasions.

With Ultra default I get range from 15-27 fps.

With High and AA set to super sampling I range from 25 - 35 fps.

35 seems to be my bottleneck at the moment and cant get any higher. I was reading with a beta bios to my motherboard it can take a amd x4 940 3.0 ghz processor so I'm hoping that will help get things a bit higher.

Make sure you have a GOOD 600W power supply. Anything name brand is fine. Otherwise I would suggest Corsair HX750 or HX850. Beautiful power supplies.

    Video GeForce 9500M GS
    Win 7Pro 64

With all things maxed and AA off I have a clean clear picture and smooth, no lag.

Not figured out how to find what my framerate is.

I wouldn't count on more than a couple FPS by swapping CPU. Your HD 6850 is getting very good frames compared to the higher end cards. I did not try a HD6850 and at those frames it would be a good price point to play on nice settings. Though the 5870 is also doing very well and should out perform a 6850 when I try them again next beta. Should be (expluding multi gpu cards and nvidia) 5770<6850<6870<5870<6950<6970 and mostly what we see is the 5870 overclocked almost matching the 6950.

I'm glad you can play this game. Default ULTRA should be below 15 FPS for you.
