Glyph error 1016

Glyph: There was an error downloading version information. Please try again in a few minutes. (Error #1016)

Rift: showing "Update" button.

If I click the OK button on the glyph message, and then the Update button on Rift, Rift changes to the "Play" button.

If I then click the "Play" button on Rift, I get the Glyph message again.

I appear to be logged in (my ID shows in the upper right) but I can't get past this point.

I went away for 2 hours, and this did not change.

Update: uninstalled Glyph. Download of Glyph times out. Guess I am SoL for the immediate future.

Yeah. Having the same issue today and I've had it before.

Try going to this page and see if you can reach it. I can't.

Between trion's old infrastructure and our ISPs, there's a problem, but only for a few people.

I can play fine if I activate my VPN.

Last time it resolved itself by the next day. Enjoy your day off.

I can now get to my account page, and attempts to download Glyph return:


An error occurred during a connection to glyph.dyn.triongames.com. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

Also, I can't log in to the trionworlds account site, with a very long message starting with "the following evaluated to null", so opening a ticket is also a no go.

Hmm. Problem resolved! (for now) Glyph is re-installed, and I am in game.

I played in the morning and afternoon with no problem but this evening I got the 1016 error and could not log in. I also could not get in the Rift website or the gamigo website but could access other websites.

What fixed it for me was to reboot the modem.
