You are not authorized to play this game. (Error #2002) with VIP beta key? o_O

Okay, so I open up my rift beta patcher today, the patcher updates, and everything appears normal. When I try to log in, I get the error: "You are not authorized to play this game. (Error #2002)". This confused me because I was almost certain I had a VIP Beta key... I go to my trion world account management, "You have not been invited to a beta event." > go to apply code > "Codes applied to your account:
Date Code
1/22/2011 RIFT Beta VIP"...

Checked up to see if I'd misunderstood anything about the VIP Beta keys, and my research has concluded that VIP Beta Invites include all beta events. Scanned the forums, I've found this issue with players who have pre-ordered but I felt this constituted it's own thread. I'm not anticipating a code from a pre-order and have a VIP key applied to my account of course. I should also add I understand the beta event doesn't start till Friday, but I can't imagine why that should cause problems with the login at the patcher. I've previously been able to get past the patcher when the servers haven't been up. Either way, it'd be nice to get some info on this.

As I said in the OP, I understand that, but I've been able to access the... loading screen to the game at least when the servers weren't up in the past.

Sometimes the patch servers are up here and there, but until you get an invite and the beta actually starts, there's absolutely no guarantee that at any point you'll be able to get to "X" screen in the login process.

Well, starting the beta early sounds good in theory, but we have a few very important things to do before we do -- like make sure people can get in. I'm sure you all have been following our unabridged and beautifully crafted patch notes very closely, but remember that each entry on the patch notes denotes an actual change to how RIFT functions. It takes a bit of time (and a lot of work) to get these changes from the drawing board to the game. Wait for Friday, and we hope you'll be glad you did. ^Zann

Wait until you get your next invitation email. We're doing some stuff on the back end that makes it impossible for you guys to patch successfully right now, but by the time emails are sent it should be working again. ^Zann

Well at least we know something's up, LOL....I've received 4 BETA invites in my email box and was perplexed when I couldn't patch. I'll keep trying throughout the day and see what happens.
