    ^-^ this....

I upgraded to Win10 yesterday. I also got the new nVidia Win10 driver for my card (GTX 770) and did a complete reinstall using the custom / clean install process. The only thing I left unchecked was the nVidia system manager or whatever that thing is called and only installed the drivers and the PhysX, and not the manager.

I also found I had to reinstall DirectX9 because both Rift and GW2 seems to require this older DirectX9 to run. I had already set my Win updater to NOT install any graphics drivers for me. That is the problem....whenever Microsoft sends out these updated drivers, they are not necessarily the ones my card uses best and can really cause issues.

But so far so good...everything looks and works great...except for the game lag that seems to permeate this game no matter what you do. Game engine God hates to let things run smoothly.

One of these days I hope Trion just builds a better game engine that comes into the 21st century and keeps up with the developing tech properly.

    That last comment:

"One of these days I hope Trion just builds a better game engine that comes into the 21st century and keeps up with the developing tech properly."

Is really the issue. It's easy for people to say this must be an NVIDIA issue, and maybe to a degree it is, but other software companies games do work with the latest NVIDIA drivers for Windows 10.

The only reason I had to downgrade, was to get Trion's game to run and stop crashing.

Interesting, I had a tech support case open on this. I submitted to them what I did to get the game to work. I expected a response of "thank you, we will investigate why the game crashes on Windows 10 with those drivers."

Instead the answer was "great to hear you are working. We are closing this ticket."

It shows the attitude of the company. After my 3 month patron is up, I will stop the subscription. Not sure how long this game will stay supported with my configuration and Windows 10.

There was no "maybe" about it, there was a conflict between the Nvidia driver Windows 10 automatically installs and the proper Nvidia driver, a simple search would gotten you 100's of links explaining that

Slipmat - throughout this entire thread you have completely missed the point on the resolution. Everything you have posted is beside the point and not the solution.

Please stop until you read everything and understand the issue and resolution.

This is not about the Windows 10 NVIDIA shipped drivers, versus the update after the Windows 10 release.

This is not about Windows automatic updates.

This is a combination of NVIDIA support, and games properly using the new NVIDIA drivers. This necessitates the need to DOWNGRADE the drivers to Windows 8.1 versions.

Please stop talking about automatic update issues.

Seems the only person having issues then is you, there is nothing wrong with the Official Windows 10 driver Nvidia released on the day of launch, 353.62 WHQL.

If you're having to downgrade to earlier drivers then i'd suggest using that driver cleaner program i linked and making sure you use it in safe mode to totally clear out any residual, older files, doing a 'clean install' through the Nvidia driver panel doesn't work, there's always left over junk.

Yes - it must seem it to you, that I am the only person in the whole world having this problem, when you confine yourself to this forum. Perhaps expand your horizons and do some research on the NVIDIA forums and other gaming sites as well. This is a widespread issue.

Glad things work for well for you. That must mean everything is perfect.

Hopefully you did not go into a scientific career.

Default Logging/Combat logging no longer working

After I installed Windows 10, i can turn on logging & combat logging in game, but no file updates happen. I'm not finding any kind of permissions that i need to give to Rift. If there is a setting that we need to change, anyone know where? I can't get Curse permission to do updates either, so I'm pretty sure it is a permissions issue.

If anyone else has the same issue with the logging, I found a solution http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...5-0fdae1287eb0, the reply from kwdavids on 8/4/15. It was a permissions issue and it was very picky what had to be done to fix it.

For the Curse issue, I had to find the actual program, instead of the shortcut I'd been using and set it to Run as Administrator. That takes care of all my current issues with Windows 10 <knock wood>

    Good luck all.

Personally, I would never give any apps running from %LocalAppData%\Apps\2.0
Administrator privileges, permanently, as has been said.

No need to get into it, really. If you understand how the above location is handled, including enabling Administrator privileges as well, plz continue....

    Default issue getting ridiculous

If the problem is between windows 10 and NVIDIA how come I can play Rift on my laptop with an NVIDIA card but not on my desktop with windows 10 and NVIDIA? And I can run stress tests and play other high end games on my desktop even with my low end 670 card with no problem. I have no viruses, my drivers are updated and auto update for the gpu is turned off. Riddle me that game devs.

    Default Windows 10 Creators Update

Windows 10 Pro Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.138)

Glyph works, Rift does not. It throws an error report and changes screen resolution to 1280 x 1024. Disabling the new Game Mode doesn't help.

Edit: I was having this problem on a 32-bit client. 64-bit client works fine.

Ok so I had a problem with win 10 pro version my self yesterday, well ever since I built my new pc with that os. So what happens is that win 10 does not play nice with some games in general ie. rift and minecraft come to mind first. I solved the issue with installing win 10 home x64

Exclamation RIFT Not loading up after Windows 10 Update!

Windows did a Large update today. When I went to start up Glyph - it would not load! So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it - Glyph then worked - RIFT didn't! So I uninstalled RIFT - reinstalled it - BUT - it Still will not work - I just get the error message, I have done a Repair as well - but this does no good at all. So something in the new update of Windows 10 is causing problems with RIFT loading up!
So now not really sure what to do about that - except to come on here to report what is going on since the update.

Thumbs up I Fixed the prob

    Windows Home

    I fixed the problem
I tried it once it did not work - came up with an error 1008 - but tried again an hour later and all fixed now.

I went into Settings in Glyph and clicked General - then clicked on 64bit - it was on 32 bit, Glyph did another bit of a DL and now it works
Hope that helps someone else with a similar prob.
