    Default Can I get a better processor for this Mobo?

    Hey guys I have an Asus M5A78L-M USB3 Mobo, with a Quad 3.8ghz processor.

    Is there anything beefier I can pack into this or should I just wait until Intel invents the I9 and get a new Mobo I7 set up then?

    Don't get me wrong I'm satisfied with the performance I have, but the grass is always greener as they say.

    specs -> http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/...pecifications/

    socket -> AM3+

    Possible choices -> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ED&PageSize=20

    Find your current CPU on http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ck,3106-5.html and see if there's a new CPU at least 3 tiers above it within your budget

    Thanks for the suggestions I currently have a 3.8 quad set up, so it looks like my upgrade option is the 4.2 refurb; will that make much of a difference the speeds 0.4 higher and the caches are slightly bigger as well I'm not sure if that effects anything.

    Currently with a 650 geoforce I run between 50 to 70 putzing around while questing and between 20 to 35 doing 5 mans and world events.

    Meaning fps

    There's actually spots for 8 chips; I guess I should have paid more attention when my friend put the thing together?

    I heard Rift is getting closer to supporting multicores is this a reality or a pipe dream myth?

    According to Daglar performance is always being worked on, but as any real programmer knows it is very, very hard is something as big as Rift.

    So mostly a pipe dream.
