Default Can't even enter the game [Windows 8.1 Update 1]

I switched from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Update 1 and now unable to enter the game. Previously all were perfect.

It seems that i don't see the UI, because 3d background is alive and seems running without any issues with 60fps.

It just stuck at chatacter selection without chatacters... My brother on Windows 7 could easily enter the game without problems.

Seeing the Twins room blank is "usually" an issue with DirectX 9.0c not been installed fully, try these links for DirectX 9.0c:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=34429

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=35

These will check your versions and upgrade or reinstall any missing files.

If they don't work, you can also try installing .NET Framework:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=17851

and finally, Visual C ++ if all else fails

Default this needs to be fixed

I can run a multitude of other mmorpg's without issue or lag. I have run every fix listed in all of these forums, and a handful of others. I purged my computer of Rift and downloaded it again, run every update to every bit of software I use.
Since patch Rift takes my password and freezes after pressing Play. Not only that but I have to restart my computer each time because Rift wont allow me to access any other application or desktop. Force restart of computer and try over an over. Again, none of the other games I or my family plays has any problems.

Goodbye Rift until this is addressable.

People don't plan to fail, they simply fail to plan
