    Default Error code 2023

I haven't played rift since its launch, I heard it went FTP and wanted to check it out again. So I re installed and now when i got to log in I get the 2023 error. I disabled my firewall and my router is set to DMZ. I've tried a few things like running as admin but to no avail.

I tried logging every few hour and still the same problem. Any ideas ?

Howdy! Try deleting your rift.cfg file.

To find this file in Windows 7 / Vista:
    1. Right-click your RIFT shortcut (the icon you use to launch the game).
    2. Select “Open File Location” from the dropdown list.
    3. Locate the file in the resulting “RIFT Game” folder.

To find this file in Windows XP:
    1. Right-click your RIFT shortcut (the icon you use to launch the game).
    2. Select “Properties” from the dropdown list.
    3. Copy the folder path text from the “Location” tab on the resulting menu.
    4. Open any folder or click “My Computer” from your Start menu.
    5. Paste the path text into the folder’s “Address” field and press “Enter.”
    6. Locate the file in the resulting “RIFT Game” folder.

Sometimes, this fixes it! The other steps you tried are great for troubleshooting that error message too. Let me know what happens.

    Default Thanks

Worked like a charm. The secondary problem with that error is it blocked me from viewing any rift websites on my computer. Had to check the forums for answers from work after the weekend, making for no gaming for 3 days.
