I saw a post about something similar a few days ago, but wanted to make sure that my problem was identified as an issue TODAY.
Every time I try to load up Rift, I see the splash screen where I would normally patch and then it goes away. I can't patch, I can't login, I can't do anything.
The forums are working for me, but not the game at all. i figured I'd give it a few hours before trying to log in to see if it's some problem they can fix or at least recognize.
Every similar post I've seen mentioned updating video drivers, making sure you have c++ libraries installed, etc. I have made sure all of these issues were addressed. My game was working fine when I logged out about 14ish hours ago and went to bed.
Any information would be greatly appreciated as to how I can fix this issue.
I spoke with online support earlier and had my issue resolved. Here is the portion of the chat that fixed my issue:
Senior GM Godiva: I'm sorry to hear that you're still crashing. Based on the information provided, I believe the issues you're encountering are related to corrupt patcher data. Please try these steps to repair your RIFT client.
Senior GM Godiva: 1. Delete the Download folder that is normally located in C:\Program Files (x86)\RIFT
Senior GM Godiva: 2. Delete the RIFT CFG files located at C:\Users\(your username here)\AppData\Roaming\Rift
Senior GM Godiva: 3. Run the "selfpatchlive.exe" file located in your RIFT folder by right-clicking it and selecting "Run as administrator".
On a side note, if you don't see the appdata folder, you might have to click folder options and show hidden files and maybe operating system files, I enabled both.
Having the same issues as before. Sorta funny is that if I repeat the process outlined to me earlier, I can log in so long as I say guest. When I put in my information on my real account though, It just closes right after clicking play on the launcher, and then doesn't even let me click play from there on out.
saw alot of gm responses on the first page so i'm bumping this because its keeping me from playing the game. just glad i'm not on patron status atm.
If you haven't already, please submit a support ticket and we can take a closer look at what is going on. Please make sure to submit it under tech support. This way you can get specific troubleshooting steps for your computer.
been in contact back and forth with customer support for 2 days now with no solution yet. as for repatching, one of my first steps was a full reinstall. the issue is also the same if i just download the initial patcher from the website so i doubt its a patch problem.
