Howdy howdy!

About a month ago I started having latency issues when connecting to any one of a few specific IP addresses for my shard.

Is there any way to prevent my client from connecting to one of these IP addresses, or is there a way to specific 'which' IP I connect to?

Regardless of yes or no to any of that... what do I do at this point about this matter? I have asked in game on my shard if anyone else is noticing any problems... but if I've only ever gotten 1 or 2 responses.... that's not exactly enough people to get any idea as to whether or not it's just me with this issue! It could simply be that out of how many 100 some odd players, only 2 were paying attention to my having asked.... it could be that half of those players don't even have chat turned on or even speak English.... 2 is not enough to determine that this issue is just me, nor it is enough to say that it's a server-wide problem.

Anywho...

I've run pings and tracerts many times over the last few weeks and everything is fine between myself and the server... the only thing that has been changing or has high latency has been *ONLY* a few specific server/shard IP addresses. Of the IP addresses for my shard that I have noticed my client connected to, these have been giving me issues:

208.94.27.44
208.94.27.45

My client has also connected to 208.94.27.43 and 208.94.27.46, they too have given me issues but not as regularly as the 44 & 45...

Running a simple ping test on each of the 4 IPs will show a difference... 43 and 46 for me return an average of 65-68ms ping, whereas 44 and 45 run over 100ms.

At first glance, 100ms doesn't pose much of a threat, but the real problems start once in game and trying to quest/fight mobs. I see my latency around 109ms, I go to start casting a spell on my mage, my pet starts running towards the mob but vanishes from my screen for a second, my spell doesn't actually cast, my latency is now over 400ms. The game un-lags and hurries to catch up, 3 more spells I try to cast, all hesitant to actually show up on screen... next thing I know my health is at 50%, my pet is dead, and all 3 spells launch from my character simultaneously, but onto some other nearby target because that first one is dead.

After the fighting stops my latency is back to 100ish.... I take that back, it's now 194, nope, 117... I re-summon my pet, I start heading towards the next mob... I cast an instant cast dot, then another, my pet is fighting, latency jumps up to 178ms, another mob comes into play and i try to cast 2 or 3 dots in him... but again nothing happens.... then the game completely stops responding for a few seconds but then un-lags yet again, rushes to catch up.... a big ole mess of spell graphics and mashed-together sounds... all is dead, even myself.

I tab out, open a command window, run "netstat -on", I see that my client is connected to my shard via one of the bad IP addresses.... I log out, back in, check netstat and see it's none of the 4 ip addresses I listed above... my latency is now at 64ms and holding steady.... I play for an hour but then go afk, I log out in an inn to save my buffs... I come back, log in, check my latency and it's again over 100.... checking netstat shows I'm connected once again to one of the bad IPs.

I've gotten used to logging in and out back and forth until my client finally connects to some other IP address that gives me lower latency, which is usually then around 65-75ms and stays in that range regardless of where I am, who I'm around, how many players are around, what time of day it is..etc etc.etc.... it's good and stays good, until I log out and run the risk of getting a different connecting again.

The last few days however, logging in and out has proven to be nothing more than a waste of time, no matter what I do I can not get my client to connect to any IP address OTHER than one of the few IPs above that always give me crappy latency, and those that have been giving me issues... have become worse.

So again I ask, what do I do at this point?

Here's some additional info: I play on Deepwood, live in Kentucky, connected via wired to router, ISP is Insight (just recently acquired by Time Warner), speeds rated at 20megs down and either 2.5 or 3 megs up...speed tests always close to actual rating, never had any serious issue worth noting in regards to our ISP. Latency not visible in WoW or other games played regulary, no other issues related to the internet.

Here are tracerts to the 4 above IP addresses, one right after the other, in order starting at .43, (started at 3:40pm Eastern today)

There isn't much else I can provide in this post.... Not sure what else I can say either... I do know that today while trying to pay attention to all this, I have been connected to all 4 IP addresses at one time or another, each time my latency was messed up on all 4 of them... while connected to .44 and .45, my latency was SO messed up that the game became unplayable.

Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
