Can't log in... error 2016

It's happening again No problem logging on the forum, but I can't log in through the patcher at all.

ok, since you said its happening again, this eludes to the fact that youve had this before AND fixed it, what was the problem then and how did you fix it? yesterday was tuesday, microsofts official windows update check day, did you install any updates before playing rift? if so, did you restart your pc? any other updates you did? what firewall/antivirus suite are you using? are you wired or wireless?
