Same thing here. Being in Scarlet for the event crashed twice on me this night. I was in Sanctum for some time, chronicles, Stillmoor, and fishing in Shimmersand. NOTHING happend in these areas, but when I ported to Scarlet I crashed within short time when towards the center of the map.

been crashing a lot in Sanctum lately. Freeze, lag then the usual case; followed with bluescreen of death.

    Spec:

    Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120503-2030)
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
    Memory: 6144MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 6134MB RAM
Page File: 2888MB used, 9379MB available
    Windows Dir: C:\Windows
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11
    DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode

My videocard is dual Radeon 5870 on crossfire.

I did a fresh installation of the ATI Cataclyst, did some file recovery on the game, everything is deemed fine, but still no luck. I still crash and burn in Sanctum.

Yeah, Trion was way too busy charging people an arm in a leg for a white tiger that they already used in a promotion to actually look at their game falling apart.

A tad harsh, since I doubt all their people are in the error search party.
In any case it seems to be a nightmare as people crash in random places. In my case it only happen in Scarlet Gorge and the game just hangs. I can ctrl+alt+delete it instantly, so it's nothing with the computer. Even if I let the game hang, it will just pop up with the error handler at some point. It does not trigger a BSOD.

Something is completely off with the client, and I bet it might have had something to do with optimizing the client for Conquest.

I really do hope that you guys are opening tickets with Trion support because here's the latest from them to me:

Since you mentioned that you have heard of some other users that they are encountering some similar issues while using the same hardware manufacturers, I wanted to inform you of two things. First, we do not have any additional reports of this within our ticketing system that I can see, indicating that the issue may not be widespread. It certainly doesn't seem so currently. The second thing is that if you truly believe that this is an issue with AMD hardware or with your specific type of hardware setup, you can simply submit a bug report in-game and advise other users to do the same. Only one is required.
So while I got to tier 3 support, they aren't hearing your complaints. If you guys were sending in support tickets we might get some traction here. Please open support tickets.

There is a huge difference between hearing complains and ignoring complaints. It took them a few days to realize that maybe people shouldn't be getting thousands of kills in minutes inside faction bases in conquest even after there were Trion replies in posts on the forums saying they are looking in to the issues.

Similar issue here. GTX 560. Occasionally rift will hang for 15 seconds or so, when gameplay resumes, card is running at exactly 1/2 speeds. Only cure is a full system restart. No BSOD, no error reports generated. All troubleshooting I have done shows there is no apparent cause. Temps (both cpu, gpu, bridge, HDD) within limits, both RAM and GPU memory not maxed out, CPU not maxed out no drop in power. Only occurs in Rift.

More or less the same deal here. Crashes constantly when in the city, nowhere else for me. This started on patch 1.9 day.... SUPER annoying. I never once had such an issue before patch 1.9 hit.

Glad I'm not the only one having this problem. Been having it for weeks now, and i just got this game. I'm going to see how long they take to fix this bug, depending on how long it takes, it will determine whether i re-subscribe or not.

    4 gb ram
amd athlon II x2 3.2 ghz
    amd ati radeon 7770

    Default Meh

I did submit a tech support request. I provided a diagnostic report (two, actually) with my system specs. I won't rehash the whole thing here, but in summary:

    core i7 @ 3.6 ghz
    12 gig of ram
2x 5870s crossfired (and not crossfired, to see if that fixed the problem).

I say all that just to highlight the fact this is not a lack of hardware power issue.

I was given a fairly cookie cutter response, summarized as: "Check your processes and disable unnecessary ones. Run memcheck to check your ram. Thanks for contacting us, I'll close your ticket now."

I understand Trion can't replicate every error people run against, but based on the feedback here - and the assumption there are others who havent posted - I think it's safe to assume it's a large enough problem to warrant something beyond "check your processes and ram." Crashing constantly in Meridian/Sanctum is NOT normal. It would have been nice if someone from Trion chimed in, instead of pretending there's no problem.

I completely agree. There are no hardware issues as many people in the thread got different hardware. I had no problems with all the other games I played this weekend. Rift ran fine as long as I stay away from Scarlet Gorge, although it did crash once in Ember Isle after a pretty long gaming period, but I didn't see it again after that.

Hmm I just sent my Radeon 5850 in for a warranty repair thinking that the problem was my hardware. Rift performance had been getting worse and worse the last couple patches, and I repasted the card with AS in the hopes it would smooth out. Eventually it just went to plaid and crashed - last week in fact. I didn't even power the computer back up again and assumed it was my card. I guess we will see if XFX can't find a problem with the card.

I'm wondering why on earth they want a report in game when this is....TECH SUPPORT forum!!

No I won't submit a report in game, mainly because I'm fed up with the canned responses to any other reports I've sent in, then sitting there for weeks...nay months, and nothing is done about the issue. One issue I have reported 3 times now over the past 4 months, canned response states they will resolve it, and still the "offensive" name remains quite happily playing the game. If they can't fix that, I'm pretty sure they can't fix the more serious problem of BSODS and crashing in Sanctum.

I never had any problems at all with crashes on this computer, only since 1.9. It's NOT our computers....it's you Trion!
If you say plz instead of please, I say no because it's shorter than yes.

Possible fix can be found here.

Worked for me. Faster than waiting on Trion, who seems to still be in denial that this is a widespread bug.

I haven't crashed once, since i used this.

That's 32-bit fix for game crashing. While I think it's great for those having that problem, several are using 64-bit and have a video driver crash instead of a game crash (not always mutually exclusive but my issue is narrowed down to it).
