    Default Some Poor FPS Insight

    Here's a post I previously made http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...ame-Rate-Issue

If you want to take a look at it because you are having proof frame rate and you think it's due to an ATI Card you might be wrong.

In the above post I made note of a poor frame rate, was using a Core2duo at 3.45 ghz, 4 gigs of ddr2 and an ATI 5870.

I did an upgrade last night of the motherboard/memory/cpu and have jumped 30 fps and gone from high/ultra settings to everything on max. .... the bottleneck was the CPU.

So for anyone with a 'good' cpu it's likely if you are having a problem it's due to the cpu it seems you need a really high end cpu to get the most out of the game... btw I upgraded to an I7 2600k.

Hopefully this will help out if you think your gpu is causing you problems when it's likely not.

Give me a place to stand and I will move the world...

Rocking 2x4870 with an i7@4.4Ghz, none of my cores peak past 50% after loading yet I am unable to get more than 50% utilization out of my GPUs despite poor framerates. My 2.66Ghz C2D laptop with mobility Nvidia GPU is far more consistent in framerate.

There are definitely ATI/AMD issues with this game, especially regarding Crossfire. It's telling that other Gamebryo engine games had similar issues.
