Default GTS250 better than 460GTX, WTH!

Ok so the short of it is I replaced a GTS250 1Gb with a 460GTX 768 and the performance went straight to hell, I mean like med. setting on the 460 is worse than the high setting with the 250. Anyone have an idea why??

Quote from a Tom's Hardware Article Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart :

" I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel and you may not notice a worthwhile difference in performance."

Yours is 1 tier higher so you shouldn't be seeing a drop unless you increased the resolution? Higher resolutions(monitor size) will require more memory and I see the 250 had more memory.

If this isn't the case it's likely related to the drivers. Make sure you uninstall all your old Graphics drivers and reinstall the newest ones. Also, I'd reinstall directx just for good measure.
