I was having the same issue, and I ran selfpatchlive, and it solved the issue. I hope it works for you. Selfpatchlive is in the rift folder.

Probably have to call customer service if you purchased it through Trion. If not, try the store where you purchased the software.

Nope that does not work or the cause in my case. My clock and setting are correct and updated and yet I get kicked every several minutes with the 2005 error

the #2005 error is normally an error from your ISP not being able to connect to the Trion servers, it happened with ATT Uverse for about 8 hours one day. When you get the #2005 error can you cannot to the TRION Rift Forums??

Also, did you check your clock in your bios, not your Windows clock.

MMO's are always non refundable since the key has been used or may have been used and as far as i'm aware by installing the game and accepting the EULA you signed away your rights to a refund. By doing that bank refund thing far as the law goes you'd be breaking the law (stealing) as far as I understand.

Sad but true for most games these days

Still getting the problem here too, currently in South Korea. I wasn't even able to login the forums with the 2005 error until I found a program that hid my IP address . . and even with my IP hidden I still get the error.
