    Default Variable Fps

    Hi Guys

    I am having a problem with FPS because when I stand still with no people around my fps is stable between 57 - 60 on High settings but when other players are around especially in rifts I go down to mid 30 s. Can someone guide me please because this doesn t make sense, I have a 3.1ghz, 4gb ddr3 ram and a GTX460.

    Thanks

    open rift.cfg and change the line

    MainThreadCPU = 3

    to read

    MainThreadCPU = 0

    which will allow rift to use any/all CPU cores it wants, if that doesn't help - overclock your CPU.

    Hey m8

    I changed the Mainthreadcpu=0 and noticed that now the fps is more stable on 55-60 when doing quests and over 40 when its over crowded. Probably I will overclock my cpu a little bit too.

    Thanks

    I am suffering again from this problem. Now I noticed that when I look in an area when no one is there my FPS is 55-60 then when I face my character looking to an area npc s or other players my fps goes down immediately to 41-44. Can someone please help me cause its frustrating and now I overclocked my CPU to 3.4ghz !

    If this only occurs when you are looking at players, then it is a video card issue. The CPU renders them regardless of whether you see them or not, and the video card renders them only when you are looking at them.

    What are your PC specs?
