    Default Rift Patcher Update Error

    I keep getting an error with the Rift Patcher Update.
    I get this: Update Failed (error #6004)
    Downloaded file failed to execute (error #6003)

    So much helpful info there.... NOT

    windows 7 or vista? Right click the shortcut and run as admin.

    If that doesnt work we really need more specs and such.

    I had the same issue

    I opened up task manager and ended the process selfpatchlive.
    I had to do it a few times, but it worked

    Had the same error. Just restart your system and try again. Just got done patching.

    Hey Im digging up this post incase more people have this problem. My Patcher just started this today but I was able to fix it thanks to ur info real quick thanks!

    To fix the #6003 or #6004 Errors

    What I did-
    1. hold ctrl alt del to bring up Windows menu and select Task Manager
    2. look through the Process tab and find processes with Rift beginning in their description and end process them. Mainly your looking for piticular called "riftpatcherlive.exe"
    3. Now you can close task manger
    4. Right click your Rift Icon and select "Run as Administrator"
    5. Done!

    Hopes this newbie guide helps.
