Default Karuul Alert Not Saving Alerts

I realize the addon is no longer under development, but I'm hopeful this problem is not with Kalert but possibly my system.

It seems that Kalert no longer saves the alerts. The only way I can use it is to save the exported config and re-import the alerts every time I log in.

I've tried everything including reinstalling RIFT from scratch, reinstalling Kalert from scratch, etc.

And no, on my installation, the kalert.lua file is not generated upon logout or exit.

I am using the latest version 1.39.2, I think.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Make sure your Rift folder/addon folder is set to Read/Write and not just Read Only.

Did you copy over the Rift folder in your Documents folder? Addons aren't saved in your Program Files.

When you are in game and press "open addon directory", what is the folder that opens and what is in the folder?

Thanks, Artewig, but alas no joy. Changing folder/file permissions is not as straitforward as other O/Ss with which I am familiar (Linux, Earlier versions of NT) so I went searching for HOWTOs and tried several protocols, none of which worked.

I think you're right, howeve, because no matter what I do or how I adjust the permissions of the document/RIFT folder, the kalert.lua is not written.

Need to keep trying different approaches.

    Cheers,
