Default [Addon] Tinker Tools (for Dimensions)

Okay an "official" development thread is long overdue...

    What is Tinker Tools?

Tinker Tools is a complete overhaul of the no longer maintained Dimension Tools.
Besides many bug-fixes and UI improvements, the main additions are:
    • support for modifying a group of items as a single structure using rotate, scale and copy&paste tool
    • "reskin" your clipboard by replacing building block textures
    • import and export sets in text form; import supports old toolbox sets too

    Where to get it?

    Curse project page:
    https://mods.curse.com/addons/rift/tinker-tools

Github code repository (more regular updates with unreleased code):
    https://github.com/Lynx3d/tinker_tools

Feel free to post feedback, issues and feature requests in this thread.
I don't check curse and github for issues every day, but you can submit those there too.

    New version available:

    Version 1.3.0
    • New Selection Tool:
      • Temporarily save sets of items for easy reselection during a building session
      • Copy and Paste operations automatically save a set of the last used items
      • Pick up large amounts of items without getting disconnected
    • Offset Calculator improvements:
      • Add an optional multiplier field
      • Grey out inputs when they have no effect
      • Prevent detection keeping 'Selection Delta' mode when it's not applicable
anymore, default to 'Transformed X-Offset' instead
    • Added new Tenebrean building blocks to skin database
    • Display the number of selected items in the item name field instead of as stat
    • Include window borders for the clickable area
    • Ask for confirmation before overwriting a saved set
    • Fixed transcendent items displaying as common items

Note that the selection tool is still rather basic, but I didn't want to postpone the release too long due to a couple of 4.1 related things.

The new selection tool is a real help to keep my sanity intact in that currently bugged subzero :-) great job!

What is the invert button for? I quickly cancelled after the warning popped up, so I thought I'd ask first...

The invert button just selects all items that are not selected and deselects those that already are. It's basically my idea to please the people that suggested a "select everything" button.

The warning is because attempting to edit so many items with Rift's own tools will usually end in an instant disconnect, so it asks for confirmation when attempting to select >200 items.

    Version 1.3.1
    • Fixed an issue with automatic saving of selections
    • Automatically save the selection of last loaded set too
    • Added a "wildcard" skin to Reskin to replace all building blocks of matching shape
    • Load&Save:
      • Removed rather redundant option to load multiple copies, use copy&paste instead
      • Added a reference point option that allows precise placement of sets
      • Display required items for sets in a window instead of printing them to chat;
this way item names for the current client language can be loaded.
    • Added '/tt settings' as synonym for '/tt config'

Quick explanation of the reference point option: It basically allows you to define a point that lets you "hook up" your set. It could be what you consider the center point or just any point that helps you placing it later. It gets saved with the set, and when you later load it, you can pick a new reference point (usually by placing a placeholder/dummy item first) and it will be placed so that the relative positions match with the saved reference point.
So if you save for example different elements of construction in several sets with the same reference point, you can later reassemble them wherever you want precisely.
