Default [Is this possible / Addon Request] Loc Log

    Hello there,

I've been a bit curious about addons recently, and I had a question.

What I'm looking for is an addon that allows you to save a bunch of coordinates and perhaps group them into categories & add a description. So if I came across a really nice spot I wanted to show a friend, I'd just save my current loc. Then, have that list available in a window, and then you could click that loc to set a waypoint.

Bonus points if you could sort the list according to which coordinates are closest to your current position.

Is something like this possible? I've had a brief look through some API documentation and I think so, but I don't know anything really about addons or making them.

If it IS possible, would this perhaps be a project someone would be willing to take on? I think I'd like to learn how to make addons myself, but to be honest I don't have much in the way of spare time.

Curiously, I was looking for something very similar.

I too would love to know if this is possible.

I use MapPOI which sorta does this.

Calibrating the map can be a bit of a pain, but once you get used to not scrolling your map very often it's quite usable.

mappoi is GREAT, until you start moving. then you have to recalibrate :/ its good for checking and setting waypoints manually. but outside of that, isnt very useful.

Keep the map centered to you and don't zoom it and it stays calibrated.

It only messes up when the auto-center stuff fails near the edge of the map.
