    Default Dps control

I'm not a programmer but thought of a idea for a add on. For some dpser's who cannot count 1 Mississippi , 2 Mississippi , 3 Mississippi to let tank get aggro then start dpsing. I wonder if you can program a dps meter if you are dpsing too high(say 1k-2k) on first pull for 2-3 seconds, and flash there screen red like in Wire's Raid killer. Flash green/message when they are able to dps after 3-4 sec.

I find to many ppl still can't get that concept to wait to start dpsing. They think tank has insta aggro, and taunts wear off because they out dps'd the tank in first few seconds to build aggro.

a threat meter would solve this nicely. but i don't think there is enough API to do easily (it can be done the hard way however)

You are not tanking correctly then!

Our MT/OT keeps aggro even though the DPS jumps with them into the boss.

    1. Charge
    2. use builder attack
    3. taunt
    4. use builder attack
    etc etc.

really easy or just go 16 pts in warlord and be done with it

^this. ive never had dps rip aggro from me because they dps'd when i pulled even using their cooldowns. the problem i have often seen in the past from tanks in our guild is they do this..

    1. run in (boss engages at this point and if any hots or bard buffs etc. are active they decide heals and support look good as a snack)
    2. TAUNT! (this is where the problem starts. you just blew a force taunt on nearly a 0 aggro table. when this wears off your highest dps is likely going to turned into lunch)
    3. Tank starts rotation but taunt has worn off and boss turns and starts eating ppl. unfortunately taunt is now down.

result... ppl die and tank blames dps for starting their rotations early.

    correct method:
    1. run in/charge whatever just get to the boss fast
    2. use tank rotation
    3. taunt (now that dps has started dpsing this force taunt keeps him on you and puts you farther up the aggro table)
    3. continue tank rotation with happy dps not being blamed for tank error

While I wouldn't mind a threat meter addon, I have to agree with the above posters.

The tank should take it as an opportunity to get better if the DPS is able to take agro on the pull.

The only exception is on particular pulls where the tank is trying to be fancy.
