I feel blind and disoriented when a MMORPG has no DPS meter. I need a DPS meter just as much in soloing, levelling up, 5-mans and raids! Because it's the only real way to see if my character is getting stronger and progressing!
As I level up, I always stare at my DPS meter. If I play for 2 hours straight, and got a few pieces of gear, I'll remember what my DPS was like 2 hours ago and compare it with what my DPS is like now and feel good that I'm not doing 200 DPS more than I was before. But if I feel that I'm doing less, then at least I can analyze my playstyle now and before and adjust and fix it up. Maybe I Learned a new ability that I shouldn't be using and stick to my old rotation. Maybe I equipped a piece of gear that has Strength + Endurance and it was more beneficial to keep my piece of gear with less Strength BUT had Dexterity.
In 5-mans. I don't want to top the meters to show off. Far from it, because I never post the results in chat! NEVER! I want to top the meters for my own personal gain. If a player that's the same level and equal gear as me is out-DPSing me from a long run, I want to find out why. What are they doing better than me? So I fix my spec, fix my gear, my rotation, and I become a better player! Without a DPS meter, how will I ever find out how I stack up against better or worst players than me?
Please Trion or Rift community! Add a DPS Meter to this game! I can't live without one!
(Edit) I forgot to mention that I did find a DPS meter, but it's some weird program that runs in the background and generates a report. I don't like this! I need to see my DPS in real-time and in-game! Just like how the "Recount" add-on works for WoW!

It could now be possible to build a very basic threat meter, but it would only take into account your own threat and it would only add threat based on the abilities used, not on how much damage you did / modifiers etc.
I have faith in you guys!
the most used i think are ACT , riftjunky(never used it but i guess it can provide it) , and xanadu (the one i am developing http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...adu-log-parser)
