    Default Seriously - WTH, Faeblight?!

I tried to log in last night but there was a queue of 220 people.

What's a girl gotta do to sheep a fool around here?! I can't just take my sheeping wand to some other shard 'cause they won't appreciate it as much, or start RPing it.

On a serious note, I'm kind of excited that we're getting queues. (Admittedly also a bit distressed.) We've gotten a lot of really awesome players.

    Welcome to Faeblight!

If I wanted a que time for this game I would have started on a pop shard. 2 hrs to get in game is a little crazy. Needless to say I think something needs to be done. They have let way to many people transfer over her. Other shards are now wasteland's due to that fact. Town lags now, takes for ever to get on the server during peak time. Send some people off the shard, or lock it where people can no longer Xfer

I gotta admit that I kinda am on the same boat. When is Trion gonna lock this server? Seriously, the lag is unbearable and when half your raid team is lagging due to the server. You really can't do much. Faeblights lag has been hideous the last few nights and really needs fixed. They need to either upgrade the servers for the amount of people or lock it. You know as well as I do, more big guilds are gonna switch over because its so active here. Which does kinda explain why many servers are becoming more empty. I'm surprised they didn't lock it the first sign of queues but...

I would much rather have to wait through a queue to play on a thriving shard, than to instantly log into a ghost shard where you're only hope of doing anything productive is solo.

We have several different raid pugs going, constant LFG and LFM messages in 50 chat. I've been on Faeblight since Beta and the whole "Lock our shard" thing is a little on the silly side to me.

I don't think it matters how long you been here. Like you, I am a faeblight original. However, when the lag gets to the point its unbearable because they can't keep up with the population. Then they need to do -something-. The lag makes or breaks things, especially when your raiding. HK for example is very unforgiving, most stuff wipes your raid or one shots you. So what will happen when ID comes out? Same thing because odds are that raid will be even more unforgiving.

They have closed other servers to transfers before they reached the point that Faeblight has- I assume they learned their lesson with Wolfsbane. Why they keep Faeblight open when it is bursting at the seams is beyond me.

You know, it doesn't have to be one or the other. It is entirely possible to have a beefy server population without causing undue hassle to all of us players.

I agree with Arwydd--this, to me, is the point. I love Faeblight and there are many good things about the high pop, including the AH, and the many raid slots available to those of us who belong to guilds that don't raid. I am grateful to have come here after my first two days on another server.

However, I'll give a concrete example of the lag problem. Last night during the EI zone event for Ithkus & co., a bunch of us were trying to kill Odax, who spawns up near Gilded Strand / Splintered shallows. I was getting off a shot about once every three seconds and watching my DPS meter. After about two minutes of fighting, Odax was barely damaged at all and only one person had a three-digit DPS reading.

I'm no uber-dps player, but I should have been pulling around 900-1K dps on Odax, and normally you see people much higher than that. The highest DPS was around 127. So this is a real issue.

The good thing is that Trion has a record of dealing with stuff like this pretty quickly, so I'm sure they'll step up soon. I did send in a feedback report, as I hope others are doing. (A polite report, of course.)

This comparison is really beating a dead horse. Faeblight never has been nor will be a ghost shard. Wasn't before transfers, isn't after transfers. Saying this is so illogical it makes me want to sodomize a kitten.

Obviously you weren't on Faeblight when it first opened because the server population was dismal at that time.

It doesn't matter, but the lag is horrible and server queues ARE bad. Especially for those who want to raid. Trion should have managed Faeblight's transfers better after merging Estrael and Shadefallen here. We should have been -LOCKED- immediately but we were not. Still getting transfers over and more good size guilds. Which means for raiders or event planners, or all the above. Plan to make your attendees log on over an hour earlier to make sure they aren't locked out. However, latency is problems will continue until they address it.

I was the fifth 50 on Faeblight, Defiant side. The population was fine, maybe you weren't engaged in the community?

I was guardian side which is known to be very underpopulated in comparison to the defiant side. Might have been fine defiant side but it was not on the guardian side. I was actually one of the first lvl 50s on guardian side as well as one of the first to start killing GSB bosses.
