This. OP, you may not even have hit a flagged player...you might have received a heal from a flagged healer on your side. And as someone else previously stated...if you are flagged, it's usually assumed that you wish to be flagged. I always run with my Auto-flag setting off so I can engage in PvP when I chose to...which typically does not include zone invasion time.

If your preference is to leave PvP out of zone invasions, you can either (1) leave your Auto-flag off by default, or (2) go into your preferences and flip it whenever you see the zone invasion happening. Seeing people with their PvP flag during a zone invasion is inconsiderate, in my opinion, but it is not griefing. And it's how I learned about the Auto-flag feature in the first place. :P

If they "flag" themselves during zone events, they won't get any heals from me. I enjoy helping folks out, but I really don't care to get ganked because folks cannot behave themselves during zone events.

If you don't want to flag, make sure your setting is off. Typically on this server, zone events are auto-flag off since everyone is just trying to kill the invasion. Flagging on is typically frowned upon during those events. Additionally make sure you stay away from the other factions Guards (particularly in Stillmoor) and don't accidently pop them.

I'm perma-flagged on both my guardian and defiant for the most part. If you hit me, so what? It's a game..red=dead..and I need a ton of Shimmersand kills too.So... by all means flag up on me.

Coming from Sunrest PVP-RP I'm used to having to fight Defiant's AFTER a major invasion boss. Even though we were always flagged we actually had sort of an unwritten rule about fighting major bosses in Stillmore (IPP and Shimmer were FFA though). We would for the most part just refrain from doing any AOE and our factions usually stuck to one side or another. Once the boss was down then we went after each other. It was cool, quite fun actually and gave it a real feeling of we had to down whatever the major threat to our being was first. On occasion you'd get a sneaky guy taking out people but that didn't seem the norm.

Being a transplant I like how it is here, everyone for the most part seems cool but one thing I notice is if I get in a public group and someone is flagged, EVERYONE gets flagged. Is this the norm or do my settings need to be changed so I don't auto-flag when in group with a flagged person? If I do get flagged however I treat it as normal unless attacked then I go into PVP mode. Since Sunrest is dead I'm more of a WF PVP'er at this point anyway.

Aye Caen, it's your settings. You have to change the auto flag to off. I found out the hard way myself. Just be aware that if you try and heal, etc someone that IS flagged and you are set to off, you get a message telling you that you aren't compatible with someone that's flagged and you cannot heal them. You would need to flag in order to actually help them. Just an FYI since you probably aren't used to that either....and welcome to Faeblight...happy to have you!
