Server Faeblight needs to be Locked

I am thinking Trion's silence regarding these issues means they intend to do nothing and let the player community sort it out. It costs them nothing to take this approach, but the cost to the RP community might be huge. No sign that Trion cares a whit.

I'm guessing this is their expected ideal solution, which is the point in the free transfers anyway. I would imagine their main "concern" is less about the lack of RP/ability to RP but instead simply fixing the lag and queue times. The RP will probably be addressed further in the development of the game.

It's still a shame that they are not commenting at all on any of these issues. They even went and moved this thread from General Forums to the NA Shard section without any message of why. While I applaud Trion for its amazing game and team behind it and their dedication to improving it in all regards, they have shown themselves to have poor company to customer communication sometimes. They've had bugs go months without any formal acknowledgement, they've released patches and hot fixes without actually posting any notes on it, and now they're kind of ignoring the "grassroots" level of Faeblight.

So I still seeing new guild transferring in, even after all the posts and protesting. Come on, this is ridiculousness. Some of us can even get to our raids on time because we are stuck in queue for 30+ mins.

I submitted a ticket about lag last weekend; never did hear back--first time ever a GM hasn't gotten back to me promptly. I can endure almost anything except lag--it makes the game meaningless. Why Trion hasn't bothered to post something about it, I don't know--when we had the hotfix, I fully expected the notes to say something about ability lag. But nothing, zip, nada.

I know it isn't me--I'm running a really high-end system with 100 mbps cable directly connected. I play Battlefield Bad Company II, a game that eats huge amounts of processor and graphics speed, and it runs perfect on the highest settings.

Please Trion, this is a huge morale problem--where's that agile business response?

Yeah its kind of odd that there hasn't been much of a reply.
When wolfsbane suffered this problem it was locked, and yet we're still seeing an influx of guilds and people into faeblight.

Either re-open one of the servers or lock faeblight because almost no world events can be done due to the immense population that has appeared.

I experienced 2 zone invasions completely crashing out last night (one on Ember Isle and one in Shimmersand) due to what I can only assume was lag. I know on EI everything just stopped moving and then the event just ended. My latency was only 73ms so it was server lag.

I haven't run into queues too much outside of the weekends.

My only suggestion is that everyone needs to submit a trouble ticket each time this happens, and maybe someone will hear us. Trion hasn't let us down so far, I have confidence that a solution will be found. I rather hate the idea of locking the server because I have friends that are just starting to play the game and I'd like them to be able to play with us, however non-RP guilds that are just here for the raiding, perhaps they should consider finding another home, it's as easy as clicking a button.

Darn you Faeblight for having such an awesome community that everyone wants to play here!

I wanted to make a new character because of my love of role-play and now people here don't want any more to join the server? Just one more lousy character? I was pointed here because I saw posts saying how the folks in Faeblight were like family and kind and nice. Guess they meant a different server. Sheesh, thanks a lot.

This is a great server. It really is, but Trion kind of boned us when they collapsed all the other RP servers into us. It's been causing crippling lag in some areas, queues (some have 5 minutes queues, some claim 1/2 hours or more), and the communities of those servers are clashing heavily with our own. Anybody who has been paying attention to 1-29 chat for the past few weeks knows what i'm talking about.

I know it sounds like i'm pointing a finger in this instance, and that's because i am. lol.

Yeah, when I looked I was surprised to see only one shard listed. I could've sworn there were three. Well, looks like Trion needs to split the difference and create a new one to make up for the lag. Not sure I wanna know the odds of that happening.

Indeed. I'm not trying to say we were prim and perfect before. When things happened, it was light hearted and kinda funny. But now? It's just crazy. The two reasons I haven't turned off 1-29 chat are that it's still goo in the early morn and late night, and i like helping new players.

Plus, i miss my nice friends who got swept away by the filth from the other servers.
