Server Faeblight needs to be Locked

This is part of why I objected to sending all the other RP servers to Faeblight when they got Trialed, eventually overcrowding was sure to ensue. I suggested that a second PvE-RP server should have remained open, and perhaps the PvP-RP server that was closed as well. This would have allowed more room to grow, especially in light of the Rift Lite program now in effect.

In short, we need another PvE-RP server. I suggest that Estrael be put back in service for this duty.

There seems to be a common set of complaints.

1. Server XYZ has hours and hours of que times and so much lag it's invading my mind via osmosis from my monitor.

2. Helloooooooo, anyone out there?

I don't have a specific way to fix both these problems other than give Rift another year to let the population stabilize. Problem two is why so many guilds have come to Faeblight. I propose that we offer Trion ideas to fix both problems, as they are solidly connected.

Faeblight used to be a great server, bunch of kind people, lots of RP. When it opened up, it was torn up. Trolls are everywhere, RP-ers are griefed, and the helpful community has vanished. What! can I say about the community. Its "toxic" beyond belief. I want to believe there are some nice kind players but, all I see recently are mean hateful players in chat nowadays. sigh

well the pve guild that came from dead server well they are the ones that killed them when so easy to move off a server with guilds like that they die right off then they move to your server hoping that they are too many players on it to move away from them again server dont die on there own players kill them now like i siad last week you wolfbane jr hope you like the lag and trolls

It would help if roleplayers actively reported RP Griefers and insisted that those people be removed from Faeblight. If this is the only bastion of RP we are going to get (for the North American shards), then by Gods we should be able to expect that Griefers at the very least will be banned from playing on Faeblight.

NOTE: I am not suggesting that people who don't RP should be banned from Faeblight, nor all of those who have naming violations. I am talking specifically about people who are on Faeblight to troll and grief the RP community. If those people were banned from the server, had their characters on Faeblight forcibly moved to another PvE server, and they were then banned from creating new characters or moving characters to Faeblight again, it would make the server a better place in the long run. And also reduce some of the overcrowding, at the same time.

If this is the only bastion of RP we are going to get (for the North American shards), then by Gods we should be able to expect that Griefers at the very least will be banned from playing on Faeblight.

Agreed. I have been on Faeblight since Headstart, and the continued downward spiral of the Faeblight community mainly due to, ironically, its reputation as a "friendly, active community" is disheartening. I knew deep down that as soon as free, unrestricted 7-day transfers were implemented it would eventually lead to the demise of Faeblight as a community. It seems that the walls are now cracked to the point that the shard is bursting at the seems and the trolls keep rolling in

To be honest, I've already been looking for a new home. If I have to deal with all the trolls and idiots, why not at least be on a server that is not laggy during prime time due to overpopulation?

Good luck with that. I've been on Faeblight since the beginning and I've never seen anyone get removed. In fact, I've never seen Trion lift a finger to help the RP community at all. For all the things they've done right, this is one issue they've completely dropped the ball on. The RP tag is only as useful as it's enforcement and Trion is an absentee parent when it comes to Faeblight.

A good server community is like Fight Club. And what's the first rule of Fight Club?...you don't talk about it! Every time I saw someone mention how great our community was it made me cringe because I knew what would come of it. All the misfits from other servers, who made their communities suck, would come to Faeblight and do the same thing here...and what happened? Faeblight is no better than any other server, and worse than some.

Of course, if Trion didn't allow the idiotic 7 day free transfer we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place. It's easy for people to be *******es when they get a fresh start every week. Even making them once a month or making them limited to say a handful of times a year would solve the problem. Who really needs to transfer once a week anyway?

Never make a transfer cost real money. It should, however, be a decision made with some commitment required. Once a month would be my vote.

This is an excellent idea. An RP summit, so to speak.

well, in games without dedicated RP servers, the community just comes together and picks a server as the "unofficial" server and moves there.

we could do the same, if faeblight has become unlivable. pick the lowest pop server and we all up and move on in one great RPer exodus. =)

But RPers shouldn't have to evacuate the one server that allegedly has special rules for RPing because of griefers and being crowded out by folks not interested in RPing. Trion should address the issue by opening another RP server, locking Faeblight so no more players and guilds can transfer there, and force the Griefers off of Faeblight (and any other RP server, should they choose to open up another).

If all the non-RP players left to other servers it wouldn't need to be locked either.
