    Angry Coffee Shop - 03/18/2011

    * The seldom-used door creaks open, sending several small vermin scattering from the sudden light. A pair of furtive eyes strain to adjust to the darkness as the lone figure walks in.

A thin veneer of dust covers practically everything, and cobwebs connect the cups on the shelf like a strand of odd lace. Checking the basket at the top of the apparatus, spots of green mold grow on the now long-dried grounds that had been placed therein to give this brew its flavor.

The figure stands for a moment taking in the neglected coffee shop. Lowering his head and shaking it in disappointment, he heads back toward the door and pulls it closed behind him. *

Yeah, a little dramatic perhaps, but I'm really bummed at the seeming lack of interest on the server forum. Maybe I'm used to the variety of banter on the LOTRO forums I've haunted for the past 4 years. There are those of us who seldom play the game but still post on the forums over there. Here, we have a great game, and I'd like to think a great community (or at least one in embryonic form) and we have sparse participation.

Hoping we can turn it around, but I'm thinking we should just note the time and pronounce the expiration. /sigh

And the hangman stood at his usual stand
with the yellow hemp in his busy hand.
With his buckshot eye and his jaw like a pike,
and his air so knowing and business-like.

He watched the man open and close the old coffee shop but paid him little heed, as his mind was already focused on eliminating a certain someone who had become troublesome...

I think that as time goes on people will gravitate more to the forums. The new car smell of the game is still pretty fresh and there is still a lot to see, once the game begins to gain a measure of familiarity the forums should pick up.

I could always go hang someone else if it'll help

Aethisa spied the man enter the abandoned coffee shop, the markings below her eyes glowing ever so faintly as her curiosity grew. 'Why would someone enter an empty building?' she thought. Perhaps there was some information to be had, that she could sell. A lady has to make coin somehow, and she refused to use her femininity for that.

Aethisa pulled a hood over her head and silently slipped into the alley next to the building and peeked into a dust covered window. The mans figure was distorted from the dirt and web that covered the glass, but she could make out enough to follow him with her blue eyes. Curious and curiouser...

As she watched the man, she suddenly got a craving for a good cup of coffee...

Default Add to the story and pass it around!

The rats barely had time to reach the privacy of the wall with their bundle before the figure strode in. Once in safety, they hissed at the intruder who almost interrupted their task. This was their home, they knew other ways to reach the chloromancer that awaited them in the rafters.

The Kelari smiled as she watched the disappointed figure below leave. Holding aloft the mold sample her small friends had gathered, she thought to herself, "All is not what it seems."
