    Default New to pvp-rp

I am not new to rift or to rp but I am thinking about starting a new character here, would anyone have any helpful advice? As in finding a good role playing guild or to staying alive?

Finding a guild is pretty easy. Just look at the forums and see if you are grouping with people from the same guild alot as you lvl. As for staying alive, just don't quest in the pvp daily zones and you should be ok for the most part.

To put it truthfully, RP is in the minority on this shard. There are still players and even a guild or two who actively pursue it, but they generally keep a low profile. There are no shard RP events here, like I've seen on other RP shards, such as Faeblight. You'll certainly have less opportunity to RP here than you'd might expect from an RP shard.

As for PvP, you picked a bad time to come here for that. Nearly all the prominent Guardian PvP guilds have left the shard and gone to Dayblind. Pretty much all that you see out in world PvP now are a few scattered groups, and once in a while you may even see a PUG Guardian raid trying to do some PvP Rifts. Unfortunately, the Defiant are so overpopulated here that you'll often see anywhere from 2-5 raids of them in response to any Guardian numbers. There are also still a number of Defiant PvP guilds, who alone without the zerg will wreck most Guardian PUGs. While it used to be a challenge facing them with lesser numbers when we had some quality PvPers from several of our established PvP guilds, in their absence it's become completely one-sided and world PvP is a dismal scene for Guardians now. If you don't mind 5v1 odds (some days it's 10v1), getting corpse camped on top of it, and generally spending a whole lot of time at the GY, then you might find it fun.

To summarize, I think you'll be dissappointed here, and most Guardians who don't supplement their gameplay with raiding are leaving the shard. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck.
