    Default Why I left Sunrest

Me and my guild have transferred to Faeblight (RP-PvE). I liked Sunrest. I had made some friends and for the most part the community is a good one. Why we transferrred:

    1. We could not do our pvp or pve daylies on anything but rogues.

    2. We could not do pvp rifts most of the time.

    3. We could not do pve rifts most of the time.

    4. Basically, we couldnt play the game in the open world.

    5. Gaurdian recruting sucked on Sunrest.

Yes, its because there are just too many defiants. I dont blame the defiants, they are just playing the game as intended on Sunrest. The last day I did pvp daylies there, I had 7 gaurdian rogues in my raid. We could not progress our non-rogue characters in pvp. I have 4 level 50s. It is ironic that I can now play all of them and my cleric is now progressing in pvp and pve because she can do her pvp daylies, pve daylies and rifts, especially on ember isle. I have also found pvp rifts and open world pvp to be more fun because when we do it, there are a whole lot more gaurdians. We like Faeblight, there is better rp and our guild is growing again. Our members actually pvp more on Faeblight than they did on Sunrest.

Yes, thats right, in RIFT, you can progress your non-rogue toons faster in pvp on a pve server than you can on a pvp server. Something is wrong with this picture Trion.

I will miss some of you but for us, its a good move

Look me up on Faeblight if you decide to xfer over. The guild and character names are the same

Going to a PVE server to do the PVP dailies is fitting since only one of them has anything to do with PvP. At least this way you'll be sure no players show up to interrupt your PvP.

sounds like you didn't want a pvp server to begin with. Good move.

There was a good, P7 cleric on Sunrest who did pvp daylies with me on my rogue a lot, Remedy. She (he?) was a skilled and geared healer. She could not finish her pvp daylies on Sunrest most of the time. Several of us could not keep her alive. She would quit in frustration most of the time after repeatedly being ganked and camped. We could not get any non-rogue to stick around long enough to finish their daylies most of the time in opvp. No one can stand up to getting swarmed by 5 and 15 defiants except a rogue with improved stealth. PvE RIFTs were even worse. I just loved watching me and my whole raid getting wiped by defiants so we couldnt finish a RIFT or down a zone event boss and get credit. Fun times!

You can make all the self-righteous posts about some phony code of honor all you want. If we cant progress our characters in whatever format of the game, none of us will hang around for long. Again, I do not blame the defiants for playing the game as intended. I blame Trion for the way they set up pvp progression, gauranteeing that it would be nearly impossible for the outnumbered faction to progress their characters in pvp.

Like I said, the opvp and opve on Faeblight is better than it is on Sunrest. There are more gaurdians, more pvp RIFTs and we can finish most of our pvp quests. There are always full gaurdian raids doing zone events and rifts, it is easy to PuG the DRR and you can PuG most PvE raid content if you have the gear.

We are primarily an RP guild and we can finally RP openly without being griefed like we were on Sunrest.

The last time I was in Sunrest there were too many Guardians and Defiants were failing in WF. No matter where you go there will always be a dominate faction. My advice is to get with a PvP guild that partake on to those activities. I don't think a PvE server will solve your issues.

I could handle it but thats because I was a rogue. My guild members had little patience with the endless ganking. They voted unanimously to move to Faeblight. Like I said, I was leading opvp raids every day that were full of rogues. opvp isnt a lot of fun if everyone is a rogue.

In fact, this is the first time in 8 years of MMO gaming that I have ever played on a pve server (except EQ2 launch because there were no pvp servers). I have 4 lvl 50s. I would like to play them all. Corpse running on my mage, warrior and cleric got old. The rp griefing was pretty pathetic too.

Take it easy my friend. You are one of the best rogues I have faced. There is a defiant rogue on Faeblight who might be better. I would love to see you duel him. I wish I could remember his name. I will ask around. If you decide to do a temporary xfer, I will put the word out and set up a duel between you two. It would be fun to watch.

Problem solved, everyone is happy. The opvp is very different but I am getting used to it. There is definitely opvp on Faeblight.

(stealth rogue): "hey, buddy...mind flagging for pvp so I can gank you?"

you: "naw I'm trying to do my pvp quests, maybe later"

We are considering a similar move -- because we love to PvP, when we go to a PvE server we will always run flagged. The problem with sunrest is that almost all the guardian guilds have left and those that remain are considering it -- 2 groups of guardians have absolutely no shot against 3+ raids of defiant. The real problem here is open transfers, the need to be restricted to servers that need that faction. And of course allowing transfers from non RP servers to RP servers killed the community.

Some flag themselves, some dont. I pretty much stay flagged on my rogue. An entire defiant guild flagged themselves at zone event. Everyone gets flagged automatically at pvp rifts so there is a lot more action there. Its a different set of rules. At least on our non-rogue characters when can get the quests done. We could not get our Order of the Eye qeusts dont on our non-rogue characters on Sunrest (or Harrow). There is going to be a big opvp event on Faeblight this weekend, at Meridian I think. I will be there.

I still play wow on a pvp server. No horde seem to want to attack my holy paladin. They go right after my prot/ret paladin. Personally, I would like to see something like RvR zones. I think they might have that in swtor.

I can understand going for rp reasons. I do not understand leaving for pvp. The quests are only for unseen rep. You can at minimum get three of the four quests done every day.

Regardless you and your guild will be missed and good luck.

alot of you defiant seem to not realise how bad it is getting here. Really sad to say because i love the server ever since i transferred over when Lotham was dying and we were getting buried under hordes of Defiant.

To me.. the number of defiants here actually seems LESS then there was on lotham.. that place was about a 8:1 ratio of defiant to guardian somedays.. here its more like 3:1 or so. Sometimes worse. Tis sad days when most of the guardians i see just run off and hide during zone events rather then team up to fight back
(tonight being different at least for a bit - wicked EI fun during one invasion)

Not gonna lie when i say i have heard ALOT of rumblings about guardians wanting to leave simply because there is always far more defiant out and about then guardians.
