Two headed tortoise

I see a lot of folks riding two headed tortoises who are at a level below mine - level 11 Cleric. How does one get this critter?

these are gifts from the collectors edition of the game. If you pre-ordered (or simply purchased) the collectors, you get the mount, a collector mini pet and a larger start bag.


It was a pretty good deal actually... the difference was only 10$... and if you figure you're spending a boat load of platnum on a mount in game, that's a lot of hours... more than one hour of work (here, min. hr wage is 10$ per hr).


If you did NOT get the collectors edition, you can still get a mount, but you have to buy them (near Kelari refuge is one place I've seen at low levels) ... and I think there is a level requirement.

If you did not get the collectors edition, but want the snazzy free turtle, you can upgrade your account to collectors, but I believe you have to pay for it. Not sure if it's just the difference, or pay in full.

Better yet would be to work out with a friend who's playing but hasn't bought. They buy the collectors, and you contact GM or whoever to swap your accounts (that worked in WOW, not sure 100% if it'll work here.. dont do it until you ask because otherwise you might be stuck)

There is no level requirement for 'starter' mounts (the ones that are 60% speed buff) and for guardians you can buy a horse at argent glade and a dinosaur (yes, a dino) in Sanctum.

Also, there is a level 50 version of that two headed turtle that you can get by turning in artifacts for lucky coins. I believe it costs 100 or so (you usually get one per collection turned in).

The above is what is listed as bonus feature for the Collectors Edition. It says mount is available at level 20.

If its available at level 20, then maybe they droped the useage down for the headstart. Mine was in my mailbox and I could use it right away. Though, I haven't logged in yet to see if it's changed.
