Default So.... If queue times become the norm...

Yes, this is most likely a temporary thing as we go through head start.

This is a hypothetical question. I don't expect queue times to become the norm.

    Will you switch servers?

And see queue times on the others?

This is where my guild selected to play. Unless we make a guild-wise decision at some point, here we are!

    Go Redemption!

Default Servers all full less than hour after launch

I was among the first in, had to reboot. Now all servers full and over 7 hour wait. WTF!!!! thought this is what the stress tests were supposed to resolve?

    Will this be the norm?

If this is the norm Trion won't be in business very long... it's just the typical hiccups of opening day. It should peter out in a few hours once they adjust the server capacity and the initial rush dies down.

    Uhh...no.

It just means Faeblight is more awesome than even Trion realized.

You would be remiss to go elsewhere and miss out on the awesomeness that is Faeblight!

    Wow, relax.

Headstart hasn't even been up a full hour yet. Give them time to add more servers before you start crying doom. It takes a while to evaluate things, get new servers up and running then open them.

QFT. Also, don't forget you have all the people reserving names and such, logging on at a time they normally wouldn't play.

Letting 3, 4, 5k + people onto a server at once is a sure fire way to crash them.

I would expect they're throttling the servers initially. Makes it easier for them to monitor load and identify problems before they blow up. Let 1k on and then raise the cap by a few hundred every so often.

Like getting into a hot bath. Jumping in all at once is liable to be very unpleasant.

It will all settle out--this is about what I expected for a opening day--chaos!

Faeblight is my home. Not going anywhere.

    But from chaos comes order!

I'm not sure who said it, but it seemed appropriate.

Hmm....well yeah I can't argue that either, at least from what I remember.

    I have changed my OP.

The intent of the thread is hypothetical in nature. I agree that this is head start and things like this are expected and maybe required to keep the servers in good working order. The revised post is quoted below.

My answer is... kinda. We decided to be Defiant on this server and rolled on the other RP server our Guardian characters. They have much shorter times over there and we were able to grab almost all our names. Be interesting to see if those names are still available on Faeblight.

If Faeblight has long timers then we will just naturally start playing the Guardian characters more. I also see warfront timers affecting our server (Guardian/Defiant) preference as well.

Thank you all for your responses so far.

Oh, now you want to go and get all serious.

    We can't have that here!

Default I certainly don't look at it as doom

I'm happy for the attention it's getting right now. Things will taper off, I'm sure, after the initial excitement. But, I'm glad to see the numbers.

As has been said, it's day 1, and not even official launch date. This gives Trion time to get their ducks in a row. It won't be the norm, or they'll be shooting themselves in the foot.

    And yes. Faeblight Rocks!
