Yes. I came to the forums to post out a long, thought out observation because I felt like lying to everyone! ... when others have said the very same thing.

At this point, you just sound like a child who got busted with its hand in the cookie jar. You're welcome to do continue doing as you like, however. You want to continue contributing to ruining the experience of new players? Have at it! Not my reputation on the line.

My reputation, yes I care how a bunch of people I've never met nor will ever meet, think of me. So far, multiple Guardians have left that faction in favor of Defiants just from the senseless harrassment. When you want to point the finger for someone to blame look to your left and right and those within your own faction. I'm not saying Defiants are perfect, but so far, Defiants are trying to mke cross faction rp but it is those with in your faction that shoot it down. I'm simply spotlighting the bad eggs along with me and my actions. I take note of who are decent rpers, those that try and find reason, I take note of those trying to be diplomatic and I pass the information on to the rp guilds on the Defiant side. There is a method to my madness, and to be honest, I do not care if I'm seen as some sort of criminal, as long as my goals are achieved and they are well on their way of being so.

Maybe saying you are lying was a bit much, though you are blowing this out of proportion. First things first, no onewas even rping the first time we showed until we got there, you should probably thank us for that. Second, as stated before, I absolutely will NOT allow griefing in my raids, doing so will get the player kicked and reported to the Defiant RP alliance. Also note that the majority of my groups ARE role players who are angry at how they've been treated, the constant meta gaming, god modding, harrassment and so on. In the end, they are doing NOTHING wrong, they are just playing with in the game mechanics to get a little pay back.

Or will you mouse over the character, read the guild tag, and use that ooc knowledge to inform your "rp"?

I think, perhaps, the general thought process there is that when a particular guild displays a non-willingness to RP and generally will spill out into OOC insulting...

Well, RP won't be anyone's real interest with a sort like that!

I have interacted with "a particular guild" for about three months.

I've been in "a particular guild" for about two months now. This "particular guild" has been helpful, welcoming, and kind.

There are perhaps two people in this guild that could be viewed as abrasive. Even so, they're usually silenced with a stern talking to by our no-nonsense guild leader. To black-list an entire guild for the actions of a few? That's flawed.

I like my guild, and I really like the people in it. This whole situation just makes other parties look small.

And for the record, since you're new you might not know the history with a series of incidents that lead up to this. It was people (including officers) in your guild who did in fact claim to black list a large portion of the GUARDIANS on their own faction because they didn't RP the way they wanted them to.

In all seriousness it's a bit laughable considering the originating authority and the ineffectual leadership that this "certain guild" has. It lies with a "certain guild's" faults that has people leaving the RP community because you're actively, purposefully, and willfully making people feel cheap and unwelcome.

Just pointing out that this thread being at the tippy top of the Faeblight forum is likely to sour a goodly number of folk off of RPing here all together. Starting to seem as unappealing as "Link your gear and spec" types when trying to queue for dungeons.

Ignoring the problem won't make it go away either. The people causing this problem are an extreme minority. The issue though is that they tend to congregate in the RP hub and OOC grief anyone who comes in that they don't like.

I can't speak for them, but in my guild... we have a true no-tolerance policy for OOC grief. It is very simple. If myself or any of our officers sees it or gets a screen shot of it... there is no chat and no pulling a person aside to console their conscience with milk and cookies. It is very, very simple. /gkick <name> and repeat as often as necessary until the offenders all no longer a part of our organization.

There is no room in our guild for the type of person who exists to belittle others needlessly. We're all here playing a GAME. Games should be fun and a good time to be had by all. Allowing people to wreck the fun for all involved is in and of itself pretty shallow. Like this "certain guild" claims to have a no tolerance policy for OOC drama... well, to me when the previous poster said she has a talking to them... well, that's not a no-tolerance policy if they're given 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 10th chances.

Therefore, like I said... head in sand, click your heels all the way to Kansas if you want but that isn't going to help any.
