    Default Thank you, Gaiscioch PVPers!

Hello Faeblight Forums! Remember me again? (Probably not)

I just wanted to drop a thank you note to the PVP players over at Gaiscioch who have been involved in repeated warfronts today and yesterday. You guys have been genuinely fun to play with, strategically minded, and a very refreshing change from the screaming and tantrums that normally fill WF chat. It isn't often that I see someone actually take charge and organize a group of rag tag PVP players as effectively as you all seem to!

Keep being awesome, and I look forward to more encounters with you all.

    ~ Brother Remissus

Thank you Remissus, We've recently formed our "Arach Dubh" on Faeblight which is a tactical assault force which takes on both PvP and PvE targets together. Our crew has been hitting Warfronts trying to learn each others behavior over the past couple weeks. You'll see quite a few of us rolling through the warfronts. We're getting ready for Conquest and Storm Legion. Should be a lot of fun. Hope to cross paths with you sometime .

The Arach Dubh is focusing on "impossible" feats. Such as killing Cyril, Asha, or any other creature that we deem has too much health to live ;) We're laying the foundation for our sanctum siege now and have also been taking shots at meridian to practice.

I have to admit; as someone who is a fan of open world PVP that sounds pretty dang fun. I don't suppose people from outside the guild are allowed to tag along with them, are they?

We try to go through all the rank 19 guilds and invite a member to our Lowering Their Defenses quest runs. Unfortunately not everyone can use rallys. But I do want to start planning a mass sanctum siege soon and will need guilds that want to be involved to contact me.

But how do you handle the Guardian/Defiant conflict? Or is Arach Dubh only Guardian, or only Defiant. I'm assuming it is for both sides if you are taking on Cyril and Asha? How does it work?

I have to say, I'm very tempted to return, but how is the conflict of interest with the guild having a presence on both sides being handled?

    Shiva,

We have a rule that for PvP outside of Warfronts that the opposing side stays away from organized events and if they want to play the event to pull out a char of the appropriate faction. We definitely do not want to appear to be farming each other at all. I know I've been on a defiant char when the guardian side hits Meridian. If that is the case, I stay well out of the way and definitely don't flag up. I also make sure others stay out of the way from our defiant guild.

Now warfronts wind up different due to mercing and randomness, so here we do wind up beating on each other. For that matter one day I was merced and a fellow guildie helped kill me just because I was an enemy healer at the time. This is all well and good because it is not organized nor planned.

I play on both sides and am part of the Arach Dubh Fog mentioned.

Thankfully Conquests let both sides group under the same banner, so this will be a non-issue for factions. I tried this out with Gaiscioch twice on the PTS and really enjoyed it. Was fun having both factions together.

To another question posed by a few which Fog may or may not have answered (sorry I can't remember post orders already a few minutes later), we always invite others to join in any event we do whether it is the high scale city attacks to our Crifting events. We even queue for dungeons without full groups hoping to get a fun pickup person to drag along with our crazy antics.

We are a crew here to have fun not only with our family, but to add some more fun to the game for others as well.

If I misspoke in my answers, I know Fog will correct me, but this is my understanding of how this family has worked in more than one game.

Although BL is not a pvp guild; we do have a handful that enjoys it as well as open world pvp as a group. If you do decide to go through with this plan then I am sure that you will have a following!! So if you can post it somewhere on the forums or perhaps start planning it in game then I will pass the word along and hopefully we can make this happen. Sounds like a blast!!

Thank you Bre . You got to it before I could .

Shiva, theoretically there is no conflict between our family. We are based off of the story we told with Telara Saga. We were reborn into Telara as Guardians, tasked with a crusade to wipe Defiant out. Along our journey we began to see a truth that the Guardians and Defiants lust for power blinded them from seeing. The Dragon Cults were manipulating both sides into a war against each other to weaken them for the coming of the 6 dragons. With the Telara's too busy killing each other Regulos and Cruicia would have no trouble dominating Telara.

However, when this new enlighten faction realized that the Gods had brought them back to this exact time, the same time as the Defiant leaders chose to send their top minds back, perhaps we weren't ment to fight each other. You have the Strength of the finest warriors, and the Intellect of the brightest minds. We have Faith and Technology. So we united into a 3rd faction comprised of both Guardians and Defiants. We work together every week. Now to stop the Dragon Cults we also have to prevent our demise at the hands of Cyril and Asha. To counter that we assassinate key leaders throughout both cities.

The day of reckoning is approaching as Cruicia is about to break free. It will be our 3rd faction that unleashes hurt upon her and her minions. We will only conquer this feat as one faction for Telara. We will continue to lead the ascended from both sides to victories over the dragon cults and any who stand in our way. We are Raven, we don't wait for them to attack us, we don't lust to control Telara, we are the spear which is thrust into the gut of the foe. To prepare we must practice.

Now out of story, The Arach Dubh is a group of people who have tasked themselves with creating identical characters on each side of the ball. For example, I am Foghladha and Foghlada both Clerics speced exactly the same wearing nearly the same armor. Each of us has a clone on each side so that we can attack any target at a moments notice. Originally formed to take on the guild quest "Lowering their Defenses" which is terribly lopsided it has given us a good target to see improvement.

The Guardian side requires the slaying of Joss Farwraker on the stairs of Meridian who has 20,000 health and no special attacks along with killing 100 Meridian Guards which can be found at any Defiant Porticulum . Cakewalk. The Defiant version requires you slay Rhamm Dragonsbane who has 4 Million health , an 80m aoe cleave that does 20k to anyone not 150 toughness, a 3x damage reflect, and yeah, did we mention he's right in front of the most populated spot in all of Sanctum? Plus you need to kill 20 Sanctum Guards INSIDE Sanctum, Portal guards don't count.

As if the quests themselves weren't hard enough to hurt these creatures you need your T1 Raid gear. But this is PvP Right? Yup, your going into a PvP hotbed wearing armor thats built for PvE not PvP. It's fantastic. You can either die in 1 hit by the target, or die in 1 hit by a pvp flagged opponent. This is why we plan these like heists. We don't let people know when and where we hit, We strike as fast as possible and get out as soon as we can. Last week we did the Guardian side version under 10 minutes from start to finish.

Now most of us love a good Open World PvP encounter but not while we're wearing our PvE gear. That's like wearing a suit of armor to go swimming or a swimsuit to go into battle. Not going to win any races wearing plate, and your not going to last long in battle wearing a swimsuit.

So our Arach Dubh has started experimenting with Hybrid armor suits where we use Raid Ready Crafted sets and use Valor stones to try to add some PvP protection. Our goal is to be able to have just enough Tough/Hit/Focus to complete the mission and enough Valor/Vengeance to resist and counter the offensive.

So far the Arach Dubh has been a lot of fun. We killed Orphiel and Faceless Man in Stillmoor, Orphiel in the Tower in Meridian last week, Several never before killed npc's inside Sanctum last night and are gearing up for the titan named Cyril.

If anyone wants to try I highly encourage giving these boss creatures a shot. The rush you get from these fights is intense and I can tell you first hand they are crowd pleasers. Only downside is there's no loot to gain. Only a huge rush of adrenalin.

Lastly as Bre pointed out, we don't fight each other when the event is scheduled. If it's on our calendar it's a no fly zone for the opposing side. Both of our sides work together as one and thus help each other pull off these impossible feats by staying out of the way. Now unscheduled PvP happens and we spar with each other just as any soldier would. In warfronts we fight each other to no ends but we do so respectfully. We compliment each other trade specs, help build better rotations, give tips, and never insult each other. We are brothers and sisters in war and we try to make each other stronger. Sometimes that means teaching a tank that if he breaks line of sight with his healer he's gonna die. Or be prepared to defend yourself through any possible option as a healer. Even if it means baiting someone over a railing to punt them off a bridge. Let me tell you, If a Gaiscioch finds me in a warfront you better bet i'm numbered and their gunning for me. That's the thrill of it. It's only when egos and attitudes get involved that things go sideways.

If I didn't love my current guild mates so much, I would have hopped into joining Gaiscioch so quickly. They are without a doubt one of, if not the, greatest MMO guild I have ever seen. Faeblight is much brighter for their presence.
