Oh now it's on! AOA is in the house! These guys are a blast to play with. They were my Foe in Warhammer Online and they are all standup respectable people, except for the occassional rough spot all guilds have sooner or later. Welcome to Faeblight AoA I've missed you. Lets go rough something up ! Now if only we can get Acolytes over here lol.

No, not the Acolytes. The Acolyte Zerg was the bane of Sunrest. Perhaps it was the mass recruiting, or the overwhelming number of Defiant compared to Guardian but they would kill any pvp going on when they arrived due to sheer numbers alone.

I would like to meet these numbers. Remember Gaiscioch has 4,000 guardians (800 played this week) ;) I doubt they have that many!

You guys would likely crash the whole cluster of servers if you went full on at each other. ;P

Bottom Line does not allow trolling, spam, exploiting, and harassment at all. We will remove a bad apple and we have removed people from our guild for those issues. We are a very honorable guild that will stand up for other guild members and give a honest opinion about a past member of our guild if asked. I highly dout that anyone will ever have problems out of our guild members. If so, please take a screenshot of the issue and send it to myself (cbc) or Zilthorn.

But there's a reason my husband and I rolled here-- the RP tag. We want immersion, not PIMPMYCROCNARD.

What to do? Well, we have to be good role models-- helpful, friendly, welcoming of constructive criticism and doling it out appropriately. That means being mature enough to /tell someone they're over the line, and mature enough to /ignore and /report when they are too immature to listen.
We had a new member join our guild with an inappropriate name. After a few discussions with guild members, he chose to transfer to another shard.

I think all the responses to this thread are pretty good illustrations of the fact that Faeblight will be okay. Yeah, there will be a few bad apples (there always are) but the vast majority of people are reasonable one-on-one. We just have to fight the natural intertubes tendency to fight fire with flamethrowers. ;)

Edit to add: I particularly love the responses from the newer non-RP guilds. Y'all sound like exactly the sort of people I enjoy playing with, and I hope you'll have a long and happy life on Faeblight.

Starting to doubt it works, we've had guilds with stupid, RP-unfriendly names here for months and nothing has been done.

It all has to do with the number of people that complain. I have change my own guild member by having all the officers report it. We let the member know, they were a transfer and their name wasn't acceptable. It was changed by the next day and this was over this past weekend.

We're one of the aforementioned raiding guilds who came over when a nasty rumor decimated the population of Silkweb, our previous home; we were the last raiding guild off the shard, I believe. We do our best to maintain a good image, and though one or two of our members may have been misunderstood from time-to-time, their intentions have always been good.

It remains to be seen if we will stay for good or not. I love the community, but I have noticed some input lag during peak hours while raiding. Thanks for the welcome we've gotten from you folks.

Hope to see you around, cheers.

the lag is from all the extra people due to transfers . . . same exact thing happened last time they opened up faeblight for transfers. It will go away as soon as enough raiders get annoyed by it and transfer off the server again heh

Yeah Sefi ot was basically changing Pop and old guildie from ToT just returned with the guild he hopped to. The thing is this. More than a couple raid guilds have come through in the last year. A couple (like Enigma) but as many have moved on. Basically unless the are recruiting game wide the Faeblight population I think is pretty stable in terms of content. You might poach a couple but in the end the soloers, dungeon divers, casual raiders and harder core raiders already know who they are and where they want to be so even with the larger populations once the shell game of a couple players guild hopping ends there is not some untapped pool of people dying to raid 3+ nights a week at 3+ hours at a clip and the guilds who need to find such a pool will move on. The lag also contributes to the moveing though. That was the straw that broke the camels back. It was not fun watching some fights become unraidable. I still remember the night we managed to bring down the battle group. When the server came back up you could count how many guilds were standing outside GSB, RoS and HK.

It is really a matter of consistent reporting. The GMs get overwhelmed with sich complaints during such a large scale migration and they don't seem to put things in a queue. However if a week or so later they are still getting the reports there is an "oh yeah now I remember that name" moment.

I am never shy about reporting names like "rotfl" and "wannatouchmyafro," and have been known to report repeatedly over time if I still see the names popping up around town. I've also noticed that 50s chat has become the haven for trollers and guild recruitment that used to be done in the Guild channel. I rarely find it an interesting read anymore.

Sadly, Faeblight HAS changed with the influx of non-RPer and players who are here only for population and not for the community that supports that population. However, if we all stick to our guns and don't let the newcomers push us around, we CAN bring Faeblight back to its former glory.
I myself am not an rp'r. Attention span of a mite. But when I'm around the areas know to be or observe in character playing, I go in character so as not to change the atmosphere. There are supportive guilds around. We had a player join the guild recently with an inappropriate name. Couldn't convince him to change his name, but he did choose to transfer to another shard.

Faeblight is a great shard for non and rp'rs. Everyone should respect the rp status. There's very little choice for those who do.
