Open PVP Status on your server !?

Hello Whitefall players,

I'm a french player from Rubicon (PVP-Fr) and with the upcoming possibility of server transfer, I try to figure out the best server for Open PVP for my mates and I.

That's why I'm asking you about the PVP situation on your server : is there many fights in world PVP ? At which hour(s) ? Is there many players involved in these fights ?
Are there guilds interested by Open PVP and regularly involved ?

Not much open world pvp on this server. 9 out of 10 times ppl rn away from you instead of fighting. The only time ppl stand their ground is when you attack them during raid rifts. But then they have so many ppl a small ganking squad is not enough...

Hopefully in time we get more numbers so we can yell "chu chu, the zerg train is comming"

like every pvp server - not alot. There is some, mostly in stillmoor, some nights this gets really crazy, sometimes its not so good.

Seems there is a lack of people interested in pvp, at least that is my experience so far.

When I attacked people on the character that I am leveling (I am fairly indiscriminate in a ~1-5 level range above or below my own level) it is often met with smack talk and pointless insults. That or people instantly log their mains, and then resume the smack talk. I do not kill the same person relentlessly, and I favour those of a higher level than myself, and I always wait for them to kill any mob they are fighting, situation allowing. But it seems I am yet to meet one person who is interested in pvp. I try to have some friendly banter, and I get insulted and told 'you are not really pvping, you are a bla bla bla...'

I find this odd, considering one would normally roll on a pvp server, so as they can pvp.

Thus far very disappointed. Still going to keep at it though, I am enjoying myself, I'd just like it more if my opponent was also.

I've had the same experience while leveling my two 50s, guess people just don't want to bother while in the leveling phase, nowadays I don't bother to attack anyone anymore unless they attack me first. I doubt this game will have any serious PVP until we get a proper PVP zone with PVP objectives.

We in Tainted are trying to get any kind of open world PVP going but the vast majority of the time it just ends up as messing with each others PVE, had some nice fights for sure but it's all few and far between. So yeah I wouldn't expect much until a proper zone is introduced, until then it's just boring warfront grind

But isn't that the point of a PvP server? The possibility that you WILL be attacked when PvEing. It's no problem participating in warfronts on a PvE-server where you can level, PvE and explore in peace, and choose when you want to PvP.

I join a PvP server knowing there is a risk I will be ganked or killed by another player while I quest, level or just hang around. I like the overall thrill, even if I might get pissed at times when a 50 gank me during a raid. I also like the possibility to explore, meet exotic people at my level, and kill them.

I got a few personal guidelines for open world PvP:
1. Only kill a player once (per day), unless he/she comes asking for more
2. Only kill roughly same or higher level (where's the fun othervise?)
3. If I get killed I don't wine but rather say "Well played", no matter what tactic / lvl 50 friends the person used. If someone beats me using the in game mechanics, I was beaten fair.
3. Anything else is fair game!

So far I've only done under lvl 30 open world PvP but it's been a blast, I've been surprised both by how bad and how good people are, most put up a good fight in my experience.

Your first sentence said it all.

There's absolutely zero reason to PvP in the open. Sometimes I roam around Stillmore while waiting for the warfront to pop and bump into people. 99% of the time neither of us has the incentive to initiate the fight. 100% of the time I forfeit the possibility although I'm stealthed and would have the advantage.

I'm not here to grief, but to fight for the cause. When there's no cause, there's no reason to fight.
