Default A new player keen to learn the game? Look no further.

After recently returning to the game myself to see what all the fuss about SL is, I have found that alot of new players are struggling even with the basics. I chose to re-roll so I could see the many changes and the dungeons/groups I have been in are very inexperienced to the point I have to spend several minutes explaining tactics and class abilities prior to a boss. Now this can be down to the individual not fully reading their respective class or perhaps their guild isn't quite as helpful when questions are being asked in chat, regardless new players need to be assisted in order to get to grips with the game basics.

I previously ran a small guild several months ago that was created purely to accommodate new players and take them from inexperienced to quality raiders, it was a very successful project. Furthermore we took these players through all content and allowed them to see the many aspects of content and how their role or class would function in these settings. Several of these players are now in high end guilds which is proof of how we as experienced raiders can really help new players.

I am now looking to repeat this project, it will start from level 1 (if you chose to start fresh) but any level characters will be welcome providing the effort is there to help not just yourself but all members. It will go right through to level 60 where I will assist members in preparing for end game content. Aside from this I will happily schedule old tier raids for the new members who may have missed out.

    What I'm looking for

In order for this project to be as successful as its previous version, I need a certain level of effort from members. You cannot join for a free ride, this project is for the benefit of the entire guild. Any scheduled events are there for a reason, it's a learning curve for new players and an hour or 2 2/3 times a week to help these players can be invaluable to that individual and they will surely remember you helping them for many years to come.

If you join then do so for the long haul, this type of project takes time and effort to become established. I have done it several times on different mmo's including Rift so I know what needs to be done and the time in which it takes.

I will provide voice comms, most likely Teamspeak 3. A website will also be built up to reflect the guild and its philosophy. No member shall ever be overlooked however, I would prefer to enforce a minimum age of 18yrs in order to avoid things such as early bed times etc. There is no attendance commitments until we start raiding, even then the attendance will be a maximum of 3 nights raiding.

So many possible options of where we go from here but to get the initial project going I need several players willing to form a small council in which I will base the leadership from. There is no obligation to take on extra responsibilities so it will not be forced, signing the guild charter then remaining as a standard member is absolutely fine. If there is any long time players looking to be involved and would consider an officer role then state this via a reply or in a PM.

If genuinely interested in this project then please leave a reply here or PM me if you prefer. Once i have 6 definite members interested then the process will begin. http://forsakeneu.enjin.com/

To further expand on this project:
    • It favours players with young children who have time restraints, students and those who may have odd work schedules
    • There is no group of friends running it so don't worry about having to try and integrate into a "click" of players. We are all starting fresh and I have not approached any friends to join me
    • I chose Blightweald for a number of reasons, its my former shard and I want to avoid queues to log in and any forseeable lag new members may encounter when in heavily populated zones

So to end this update, I am still welcoming players to accompany me on the initial build up of this project. As stated above, reply here or send me a private message.

Having been apart of the first Guild created by Suru, I went from a new player to an officer and Raid leader due to the guidance I was given whilst in the Guild. The Philosophy the guild employs means no members are ever left to feel not part of the group whether you are a casual, social, raider or pvp player. The same level of commitment and advice from the Guild leader and officers is given to all members regardless of rank.

When I joined i was very soon made to feel welcome and apart of the group and since have played several games with the guild leader and others. If like me you dont just want friends in this game but a group of people you can have fun with and play for many years and have fun accross multiple games, then this is the guild for you.

Even though we open our ranks to all players regardless of how they want to play, each area of the game is approached professionally such as raiding, pvp, group activities etc to ensure progression is made in each respective area. I hope many of you read this and give the guild a try, I did and have never looked back. Rome was never built in a day and neither will this guild but with the effort and commitment of its members we will get there.

    Update***

After roughly 2 days of opening this project to the rift community, we now have enough interest to begin the initial process. Tonight we will start the guild and organise the basics from guild aims to ranks, all the way to the setup of a guild website. This is merely the start and the process as a whole will take quite some time in order for us to stay on track, we want things done correctly afterall.

Those who have expressed their interest are to be online on Blightweald shard with the character they wish to be their main, have teamspeak 3 downloaded and setup. We will discuss a few things such as guild names and start the levelling process.

Again I thank the Rift community for taking the time to read this post and hopefully we will see more interest.

A couple of us are now situated on Blightweald ready, I myself on a re-rolled warrior called Savanto. If interested in joining in with this project then please feel free to whisper me in game or through a PM here.

Final update of the night, rather than starting a new guild I have regained control of the former guild which will have perks for new members. The former guild is known as Forsaken and is recognisable to some players on Blightweald. Website will be up and running by Friday so all we need now is new members.

Sorry couldn't make it last night, but good to hear the old guild is up and running and hopefully I'll get to transfer my main over to Blightweald later today.

Now I have full control of our former guild, the roster has been fully cleaned out ready for our new start.

A temporary website has been created, this will be heavily advanced once I feel the guild is in a healthy state. Although the website at the moment will provide whatever the new members need.

Forsaken is looking for new and inexperienced players to help guide through new and old content, we will also gratefully accept experienced players who wish to help improve new members. This is a fantastic way of giving back to the community, the more experienced players we help create the more they will continue playing. We do not and should not allow new players to play alone

Please head to our under construction website to apply http://forsakeneu.enjin.com/

    Hi Suru,

This looks to be a good and noble project that you dont see much in any game. I am a returning player after a long lay off. I started on release but only played for a few months so i have decided to come back and play again after all the changes it is daunting.

I am a father of 2 young children and who works about 45 hours a week as an IT technican. I am also studing my CCNA at college. I am a vetern WOW player from Vanilla who ran my own succesfull 10 Man raiding guild up to mid way thru Cata.

I would love to join up with any others who like myself are on a learning curve.

Ill be online tonight sometime so will look forward to talking then.

    Kind regards,

    Engala

I myself was a long time WoW player, right from original beta. Looking back now I can't understand why hehe. In terms of wanting to join us then pop an application on website anyway, also I will be online most of the night and will of course be happy to answer any questions.

I will always try to help new players regardless of what skill level they are at so don't worry, should you join us then in a matter of weeks you will be very confident in stepping into new boundaries such as dungeons and raids, playing your chosen role effectively.

After successfully cleaning out the previous guild roster and adding some touches to the current website, we have started to take application and also announcing our recruitment post in-game. We have accepted several new players who are looking to get the most out of Rift and all it's fantastic content. Although we have only a few members, the original post stated that this process would take some time.

If you are in the same position as alot of new players and are struggling to understand the game then we can help, don't feel the need to play solo when you can instead play with players in the same boat as you.

Simply apply to our website and shortly you will be part of a great little guild.

We are still very much open to new players who have been struggling to fully adapt to Rift, our current members are all learning very quickly and in no time will be knee deep in Storm Legion content. If you wish to learn more about the game from the basics right up to end game content then we will help you.

If you are an experienced player who wishes to help new players enjoy the world of Telara before stepping foot into the Storm Legion zones then simply apply to our guild website. Perhaps you have just recently returned yourself or maybe you feel ignored and pushed out by your current guild, don't worry as we will happily offer you a friendly and mature atmosphere where all members are equal and never ignored.

The Guild is progressing very well after only a couple of days. We have some good members and things are looking very promising. We have a few which are working there way through Storm Legion content, as well as others that are either starting out for the first time or simply re-rolling a new character.

We provide a TS server and website and whether you are a new player or a veteran looking for a new home, we have a place for you. All we require is that you are over 18 and you spend 2 minutes filling out our short application on our website http://forsaken-blightweald.enjin.com/home

Thats all for now, I will post further updates as the guild progresses, I hope to see more of you in the coming months.

    Bye for now

Our current members are all enjoying the levelling process and are ranging from 30-53, we are always looking for new members at all levels. Come and be part of a mature guild where we endeavour to help you become a more confident and effective player no matter what type of content you enjoy. We love to be social and we try to keep teamspeak active during the evenings, you will nearly always see someone on TS each day,

Apply at our website but should you have any questions then please contact me in-game, either on Savanto or Sysmic.
