Default Returning and setting up home on Blightweald

    Hey all,

Just a general post, that may of been said several times.

Me and my partner played rift for the first few months of its release, I think upto the epic death invasion leading to one of the first raids (where the even was finished to quick so they reset it, then removed the final boss fight)

Long story short, I am going to go through the game from the start, leaving my high level characters for a bit. But I would like to know which of the class would be the most use to a guild on Blightweald.

Though I have cleric, mage and warrior I previously levelled I think I would not have a clue how to use them any more let alone know where to start gearing them

I assume the generic response will be 'play what you like' or 'all classes are useful' but I know from experience that this might be the case, but it does not mean there is a need for all classes. I get enjoyment from MMO no matter what class I play(especially in rift), I just enjoy the game more being of use to a guild.

    Hopefully someone can help

    Hi there

I do not play on Blightweald so I'm not sure what the guild situation is like there, classwise. I do, however, know from experience that most guilds have been looking for Mages in the past few months. Some high end guilds are currently looking for clerics, but if I look at my own guild we've got loads of them and we're lacking Rogues! As far as I know, warriors are not a class that sought after right this moment, but by the time you are geared up of course that could change. But the newest, hardest raid (Infernal Dawn) is fairly melee unfriendly in several fights, so warriors tend to get the short stick.

I think overall, Mages are the most consistently lacking for most guilds, but a good way to find out is look at who is recruiting as a guild and what classes they need

Good luck and hope you enjoy playing again!

    Thank you for your response,

I have had a look at some of the guild recruiting on the server and as you mentioned they are all looking for different classes. I think I may need to find a group who have the same goals as me, I have a lot of down time at the moment so will probably put a lot of hours playing and levelling in rift.

Ideally I would like to see all the content in vanilla before the new expansion comes out (then of course continue raiding and levelling through that). I guess I have a hardcore raid ethic as in all games I have played through the years I have spent 1-3 nights a week raiding and other nights gearing or mat farming, so hopefully finding a group wont be too hard.

There are plenty of guilds in Blightweald that will probably suit. Are you guardian or defiant? There is a good range from the casual to the hardcore so somewhere in between will probably be most suitable.
