That only happens when you kill him without him being infight first - one-shot from a distance. You can jump over the rocks (hammer that jump button) to get to the last boss though.

Obvious solution (not sure if easy): Query, if account finished BP Season 1. Query if account was Patron during the time. If both yes, make bundle with Account bound items, send to character.
