    Default Idea for Healing in Warfronts

    At the high end though, wow, healing is way too much of a thing.

    Let's expand on the above quote a bit. Healing can also be too much of a thing even at lower levels. We can all agree that some balance changes are needed, but what if after balance changes a team with 3 healers decided to add 3-4 more heals? What if a team literally has 6-7 healers? Believe it or not it does happen; people troll/grief. What happens then? No one dies. That's no fun. It's "too much of a thing."

    What if a rule was implemented? After the 3rd or 4th healer the team with the excessive amount of healers begins to take less healing, maybe 10%-20% per healer after 3rd or 4th healer. Would this be possible? Would this make sense? What could make this idea better? Let's figure this out.

    Any change needs to be simple. This is a progression server not a new game. We cannot expect real complicated systems etc. The entire scope of Prime is to do as little as possible to the game.

    Either they need to blanket nerf healing or massively buff the healing debuff abilities so groups who run pve specs are still having issues but people who are running more of pvp specs actually see results. There is no point in running anything pvp focused because they are soo gimped any pvp utility they offer is negated by how bad the specs are once you are in a fight that is more than 4on4.

    The solution to any prime issues is not going to be adding anything new. It will be working with what tools Trion has already at their disposal.

    I think they will just break healing and it will be weird tanky specs. Rift has always had pvp issues due to certain soul combos and the ability of all classes to do annoying things.

    Right now there is just no way to put pressure on healers or a team. In other pvp games its all about pressure and target swapping. Pressuring a healer should make them fall behind on other people. Target swapping should be viable. In Rift pressure and target swaps actually are bad ideas much of the time.

    What they have failed to realize for decades now is that the answer to healing is not trying to fine-tune it but just to introduce counters through the souls for players to use when the other side is full of healers or when healing gets out of hand.

    Dominator was the ideal soul for that, still has many tools for that but it was heavily nerfed, Reaver had some elements of that but the effect was too weak.

    Pretty much, you need souls like Dominator for all Callings, and with more powerful tools. Too much healers or healing on the opposite side? Don't wait for the devs to solve the problem for you, switch to one of those souls and take on the problem yourself.

    That's the big advantage of the souls system, but in more than 10+ years of this game running, they have never taken advantage of it.

    They used to have a 50% healing debuff, but that can be cleansed. Everything is too easy for healers now. You stun them? Don't worry they have break free for free now. They also have AOE group cleanse every second for 9 seconds, etc.

    The healing is 5 x more powerful than DPS!

    2 healers vs 2 damage will = healers win EVERY TIME PERIOD! There is no way to counter them right now. NONE!

    Sad thing is there used to be several ways to counter a team with healers. Bard used to have a group mesmer ability... now gone as of about version 2.5. There was also a silencing weapon enhancement ... also gone for many years on the standard Rift servers.

    Isn't Prime supposed to be a reiteration of the original game content? Why not bring back the full assortment of crowd controlling abilities and weapon enhancements that were available to players in 1.0?
