Best solo mage spec till MA?

I want to mage tank, but until I can get the OP MA like everyone else, what is the best mage spec for soloing rifts and quest? I don't know mage well at all. If anyone has a nice build link that would be great also.

At low levels before I got MA, I used elementalist for the pets and pyro later on. There are probably a lot more choices early on. Suggest using Stormcaller as an off-soul (even if no points in it) as Raging Storm is a pretty powerful 0 point ability.

Worked fine. You shouldn't pull groups of mobs though

Or get something harbingery, if you like melee. But I guess that only starts working well in the late lvl 20s / 30s.

anything with 0 ele for the tanking pet.

once you are level 20, necro takes over due to soul purge. necrolock is what you would want. can 0 pyro or put some points into chloro for the int buff/another dot.

i use ma for most things, but ma can't solo some of the really tough 3 person quests. necrolock can.
