Default Possible issue with wardrobe unlock changes

I have an item (Apprentice's Hauberk) that has the following text

'Collecting this unlocks the wardrobe appearance Thespian's Chain Hauberk'

However I cannot 'collect' this item. Equipping it does nothing. The wardrobe unlock system was changed for prime (http://forums.riftgame.com/general-d...ms-gained.html) and I am wondering if this change is what is causing the issue here?

In short the changes means Soulbound items automatically unlock, but BoE items have to be equipped to unlock. The issue here is the item is neither of these things, it doesn't bind.

So under the new system, how do I unlock this item? I tried asking in game but just got confused replies relating to either to how the system works on live or how it works for bound items.

    Thanks

Got the same problem with the "Battered Saber"
Equipping it doesnt unlock the weapon skin.

Description of the problem seems accurate. Some whites starter pieces can be equipped but will not bind do you character. Since they don't bind it, you don't collect the appearance and won't show up in my wardrobe collection

The main issue is that these items are supposed to be concats, and should never be dropping as a white item. They always have, but no one really much cared previously.

Unfortunately, their concat is also when they pick up their binding, so by the bug not making them a proper concat, they are not getting a binding type, because the base items it pulls from all have no binding for reasons lost to antiquity (way before Rift was even Rift).

I have ideas on why they aren't getting concats, but it is a bit of a rabbit hole.

Thanks for the replies, reassuring to know it's not just me doing something stupid.

I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the game (only played briefly at original launch) which is why I was hesitant to post in the first place in case it was my user error.

With that in mind, could somebody tell me what 'concats' are exactly? And what the best thing to do with the problem items is (just ignore and vendor them or keep them for a fix etc).

    Thanks

Concats are the systematically generated items where it takes a base item and combines it with a stat distribution, rarity, etc. Typically seen as something like "Prismatic Staff of the Mystic" where Prismatic Staff would be the base item and "of the Mystic" would be the concat of stats and such. (It is actually a way bigger system than that, but that is the gist of it).

In the case of these broken drops, you are just getting the base item without the modifications the concat system would have applied to it.

And what the best thing to do with the problem items is (just ignore and vendor them or keep them for a fix etc).
Save them. I am making a global change to convert unbindable base items to Bind on Equip. This will open up the option to allow you to equip the item if it is something your class could equip, and thereby make the wardrobe appearance unlock.

OMG a player after my own heart.
I am so sorry for you and your inevitable inventory woes. Mine is past the point of hoarding!
